Motorola Bluetooth H500 Instructions

The Motorola H500 headset uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly connect to devices so that it can deliver the audio output from those devices to your ear. Bluetooth headsets are normally used with mobile phones, but they can also be paired with computers, mp3 players or other electronics. The Motorola H500 has only one button on it, so it can be a bit confusing learning do all the commands with just the one button. However, after using the headset for some time it becomes second nature.

Instructions

Pairing

1. Plug one end of the charge into the port on the end of the headset and the other end of the charger into the wall outlet. Let the device charge completely, which will take about two hours, before you unplug the headset and continue.

2. Press down and hold the call button, which is the large button on the front of the headset. Keep holding it until the light on the headset turns a steady blue, which takes about six seconds.

3. Go into the Bluetooth menu on your phone and have it search for new devices. This process will be different on each individual phone, so consult your owner's manual if you can't find do this.

4. Select "Motorola H500" from the list of devices and enter "0000" when you are asked to enter a password. Your H500 and your phone are now paired.

5. Flip the earhook to the open position, which will be at a 90 degree angle from the rest of the headset.

6. Slide the back of the hook over your right ear and then press the headset down so it sits over your ear.

9. Tap the call button to answer a call, end a call or make a voice dial call, depending on the current state of the headset.

10. Press and hold the call button to reject a call, redial the last number, answer a second call while you are already on the phone or to toggle between two calls.

11. Press the upper volume button to raise the volume and the lower one to lower it. The upper is based on the earpiece being positioned in the right ear. If you switch ears, turn the headset off and then press and hold the call button and the volume key you want to make the "Volume up" button. The lights will flash telling you that the command went through.

12. Press and hold both volume buttons to join two callers into a three-way call or to disable the indicator light. You can also press and release both volume buttons to mute the headset.

The Nokia E71 smartphone hit the market in July 2008. One of the Nokia E series, it was replaced in 2010 by the similar E72. Networking Problem

4. Navigate to the Evaphone website and click "Register now" to create your online account. Click "Register" to save your account information.

5. Dial the number you would like to reach from your keypad and click the "Call" button. Press "Allow" in the "Adobe Flash Player Settings" to allow or deny the Evaphone software to access your camera and microphone. If you deny access to your microphone, you will not be able to use the calling service.

6. Click the red "End call" button to disconnect your call. Calls are limited to a certain number of minutes per day and users are only allowed two calls per day.

iCall

7. Open the iCall website on your Web browser and click "From your computer" followed by "Download iCall now." The software wizard will begin automatically. Follow each step of the setup wizard to ensure proper installation of your iCall phone.

8. Open the iCall software from your computer desktop and click dial the phone number you would like to call using your laptop's keypad or by clicking the numbers on the dial pad.

Naruto has had a very strange life indeed. In order to save his village from the attack of a powerful demon, Naruto's newborn baby body was used to seal the demon inside. This act cursed Naruto somewhat and made other children fear his presence. Because of this, Naruto grew up with few friends and was lonely as a child but eager to prove himself. However, it all started when Naruto was a small baby and drawing Naruto at this stage in his life is something that every Naruto manga or anime fan should learn to do.

Instructions

1. Create baby Naruto's head with a circle in the center of the page. Draw a cross or "t" shape over the face to make a guideline for the facial details. Add a small curved triangular shape to the bottom of the head to create the baby's chin. Add a vertical line coming down from the base of the head. Attach the baby's belly to this vertical line with a half circle shape. Add a cone shape around the belly to show the legs and feet of the baby in swaddling cloth. Draw the baby's arms with simple lines and circles at the joints. Place a circle to the left and right of baby's head for the shoulders. Attach a small line to the bottom of the shoulder and add a small circle at the base of this line for the elbow guideline. Draw the baby's forearm with a diagonal line coming from the elbow. Attach a circular guideline for the hand at the end of the forearm.

2. Create baby Naruto's facial details. Draw the eyes closed by adding two slits across the horizontal cross guideline. Add the eyebrows with a diagonal line above the eyes. Draw the baby's nose with a curved line below the eyes. Draw the crying baby's mouth under the nose with a circular shape. Add the tongue inside the mouth with a curved line.

3. Add parallel lines around the arms. Add the fingers to the baby's hands with four cylinder-like shapes coming out of the top of left-side hand. Add the thumb with a shorter, wider cylinder shape to the right of the fingers. Draw the demon seal on that holds in the Nine Tailed Fox inside Naruto with a spiral on the baby's belly.

4. Draw the hair of the baby with short, triangular jagged lines around the top of the head. Add a line of these triangular shapes across the brow. Add three slightly curved lines on the baby's cheeks. Add a broken "Z" shape across the swaddling to show the folds in the fabric. Add the baby's bedding with a curved line around the child. Draw tears coming down from the baby's eyes with a curved line running down across the cheek.

5. Remove the overlapping guidelines on the face, arms and belly of the infant with your kneaded eraser. Ink the illustration of baby Naruto. Darken in the mouth and eyes. Let the ink dry and erase the pencil lines.

Remove The Push To Talk Icon On A Tilt

Fixing glitches in your smartphone

The Tilt is a modern smartphone with a moveable LCD screen that comes equipped with various features such as e-mail, texting and MP3 player. One feature you can add via your service provider is Push-to-talk (PTT). In essence, this feature allows you to use your Tilt as a walkie-talkie simply by activating a transmit button on the body of the device. This is a convenient feature, but there have been reports of glitches in the system from Tilt users about the PTT icon remaining on the LCD screen even after they've disabled the service. If you are having this problem with your Tilt, the only way to fix this glitch is by performing a hard reset on your Tilt to restore it to factory settings.

Instructions

1. Insert a microSD card in the small slot on the bottom of your phone and backup any files you would like to save to the card. A hard reset of the Tilt will wipe any personal data and settings from the phone so you'll want to back up this information before you proceed.

2. Place your Tilt face up on a table then press and hold both soft keys on either side of the Tilt simultaneously. Keep holding these buttons and pick up your Tilt Stylus (small plastic pen-like pointer that came with the device).

3. Use your stylus to press the reset button located directly at the bottom of the Tilt. Make sure you continue holding the soft keys as you perform this step.

4. Release the stylus but continue holding the soft keys until a prompt appears on screen informing you that you are about to reset the phone to the manufacturer default settings.

5. Release the soft keys and then immediately press the green "phone" button. The device will be reset and the Push-to-talk icon will be removed from the screen. You can also reset the phone in the menu system, without having to use the stylus. Simply tap the "Start" tab from the main menu, then "Settings," then the "System" tab, then select "Clear Storage" from the list of options. Tap "1234" in the text box that appears and tap "Yes" to confirm. Your Tilt is now reset.

Personal and identity information such as financial passwords and contact lists -- once stored on protected personal computers -- now appear on unprotected smartphones. Phones infected with malware, Trojan horses and other viruses leave your phone unusable, send the virus to your contacts or worse: Perpetrators steal usernames and passwords that can lead to identity theft. Protecting your phone is a twofold process; avoid potential viruses and download legitimate virus protection on your phone.

4. Practice safe memory card use. Never share your memory card with another cell phone. An infected memory card can spread a virus to each phone it contacts.

5. Set the Bluetooth option on your phone to the undiscoverable setting. Some viruses penetrate phones through a Bluetooth connection. This attack is especially tricky; you need only walk by an infected Bluetooth device while your phone is discoverable, and the virus can transfer to your phone. The first documented Bluetooth virus, the Cabir virus, which arrived in 2004, didn't harm your phone or steal valuable information, but it ran the phone battery down quickly by constantly trying to discover nearby Bluetooth connections through which to spread. Current Bluetooth viruses are more malicious; they steal contact information and disable phones.

6. Protect your iPhone from malware and other virus infections with anti-virus apps. Choose from a handful of well-known and trusted anti-virus software providers, as some viruses present themselves as inexpensive or free virus software from unknown companies. Snap Secure, Lookout Mobile Security and EMM are all free downloads at the iPhone App Store. Intego created the Virus Barrier iOS software specifically for the iPhone and iPad to scan for and block any viruses from transferring to your computer when you connect the mobile device to it. Virus Barrier can be downloaded from the App Store for a small fee.

7. If you own an Android-powered phone, download anti-virus from reliable suppliers to protect your personal information. The Kaspersky Mobile Security app offers find-and-wipe services as well as virus and spam protection. In addition to standard virus scans, Norton Mobile Security can lock your phone to protect personal data during a virus attack or if the phone is lost or stolen. The Bullguard Mobile Security app protects against viruses, identity theft and online fraud, and it offers parental controls, a basic backup and SIM card protection. All these apps are available for download from the Android Market.

8. Add anti-virus protection for your BlackBerry with Bullguard Mobile Security, which offers a user-friendly online interface that allows you to manage your virus protection and back up information from your phone or your computer. Also useful is SmrtGuard's Snap Secure app for handy information in addition to virus protection; the app warns how new apps may affect your privacy settings and leave your device vulnerable to virus attack. The app also provides BlackBerry users with Personal Guardian service, with which you create a panic button that sends out a text message or phone call with your location. 9. Even if your Windows computer is protected with anti-virus software, you still need a separate mobile app for your phone. Find Windows Mobile virus protection with the Kaspersky Mobile Security app, which offers a full range of protection not available in its BlackBerry and Android apps. These additional features include data encryption and parental controls. In addition to virus protection, the Bullguard Mobile Security app offers a spam filter and firewall protection with its Windows Mobile apps, which are not offered with its Android and BlackBerry versions. NetQin's NQ Mobile Security for Windows Phone app offers anti-virus scans and data backups as well as private and safe-browsing capabilities. If you want to show the world who you really are, one of the best ways to do that is to customize your mobile phone with a theme. You may already have a skin and ringtone for your phone, but a theme will put in all together, and allow you to display your likes, friends, family and yourself. No matter how tech savvy you may or may not be, there are many sites on the Internet that will help you make your own themes for free. One of the largest sites that does not charge a fee is Zedge.

Instructions

1. Sign up with Zedge. They will ask for very basic information, like your website address, birthday, what type and model of phone you have, and they will have you create a username.

2. Select the "theme maker" tool, once you are signed in. You will find this tab on the right-hand side of the top maroon menu. You will be immediately taken to the page where you can create the wallpaper for your theme.

3. Browse the files on your computer to find the picture or image that you want to display as your wallpaper. You can search the Internet for images that you like or create your own.

4. Click the "upload" button to get your image into the theme maker, and then select the "crop" button if there are parts of the picture outside of the screen box.

5. Find the "screensaver" and "background" tabs next to the "wallpaper" tab. You will need to browse for and upload an image into these screens, as well.

6. Pick a color to complete your theme by clicking on the "color" tab, next to the "background" tab. Available colors are gray, black, brown, red, orange, pink, blue and green.

7. Choose a ringtone that matches your theme. You can upload .mid, .mp3 and .acc files that are less than 1MB in size.

8. Create your theme by clicking on the "download' tab and selecting a name for your new theme. Make sure to look at the live preview on the side to ensure that your theme looks the way you want it to. Click the "create theme" button.

Replace A Nokia Flip Phone Display

Give your Nokia flip phone new life with a replacement screen.

Although flip, or clamshell, phones are designed to protect the display, replacement may become necessary if it becomes cracked or severely scratched. To continue to use your Nokia flip phone, purchase a replacement screen and housing for your model online and carefully follow the steps to replace it yourself. Work with clean hands and on a dry, lint-free surface where there's plenty of room to spread out the phone's components.

Instructions

1. Remove your Nokia's back cover, battery and SIM or memory cards if you use them.

2. Remove the two visible screws. These may be at the top corners of the backside of the phone, and you should see them when you remove the back cover.

3. Remove the camera cover. If your Nokia flip phone has a camera, remove its cover after unplugging the camera connector. Lever it up to remove the socket from the plug.

4. Pry off the phone's front cover. For a pry tool, you can use a credit card or guitar plectrum. Start at one corner, then pry off the opposite corner.

5. Separate the flip phone into two halves. Place the front half so the display is on the top side, right side up, connecting ribbon at the bottom.

6. Remove the metal bar when the phone halves connect. Slide the metal bar to the left to remove it.

7. Remove the ringer. Turn the top half so the display is underneath and the connecting side is at the top. Located on the bottom right corner, remove the ringer by levering it away from the phone. It may be attached with double-sided tape.

8. Remove the ribbon. There will be a gap at the upper right corner, where the ribbon needs to be slid through. Pull the ribbon, from the top left corner down the left side and the piece across the bottom, to the left to remove.

9. Remove the frame around the display. Turn over the top half of the phone, then slide your pry tool under the edge of the outer piece, which may have the Nokia branding, to release it.

10. Remove the square piece above the LCD display. Use the pry tool to gently lift it off, keeping a firm hold on it to avoid losing it.

11. Replace the LCD screen and housing. The display and housing will be in one piece.

12. Reverse these steps for reassembly.

You can add your entire iPod music catalog directly to your Nokia N95 phone using your computer and your iPod's iTunes media player. Instructions

1. Launch your emailing program and your iTunes program on your desktop.

2. Right-click a song in your iTunes and select "Show in Finder" or "Show in Windows Explorer" to locate the iPod song in its folder on your computer.

3. Select "Compose" to open a new email on your emailing program and click "Attach a File" to add a song.

4. Navigate in the pop-up window to the folder where you found your song in Step 2 and click on it to add it as an attachment to your email.

5. Enter the email address for your cell phone's text message inbox in your email. The address includes your ten-digit wireless number and your Nokia provider domain name (see "Resources" below).

6. Click "Send" to have the email sent to your text message inbox and click "Open" once the message loads on your phone.

7. Click the file within your text message and select "Add To." Click "Media Library" in the next menu and your song will be transferred to your music folder.

Unlock A Sony Ericsson Z310a With Tmobile

The Sony Ericsson Z310A is a quad-band Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) cellphone that was originally released in December 2006 and sold by T-Mobile for use on the T-Mobile cellular network. T-Mobile sold the Sony Ericsson Z310A with a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) lock that prevents using the phone with another GSM cellular service provider's SIM card. You can, however, unlock the SIM card on your Sony Ericsson Z310A so that you can use the phone with a non-T-Mobile SIM card.

Instructions

1. Call T-Mobile customer service at (800) 866-2453. Request the SIM unlock code for your Sony Ericsson Z310A. It is T-Mobile policy to give you the SIM unlock code free of charge if you have an active account that is in good standing. It is also possible to purchase the unlock code from a company that sells unlock codes (see Resources).

2. Remove your T-Mobile SIM card from your Sony Ericsson Z310A. The SIM card is located under the battery compartment, which you can access by removing the phone's back cover and battery. After removing the SIM card, reinsert the battery and place the back cover on the phone.

3. Power on your Sony Ericsson Z310A.

4. Press the left arrow key on your Sony Ericsson Z310A.

5. Press the "*" key on your phone.

Unlock My Nokia 6010

You may request an unlock if your phone doesn't get reception in your home.

Many Nokia 6010 phones will only accept SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards from the service provider you bought it from. This presents a problem if you want to use your phone overseas. If you have a valid reason to use another company's SIM card in your phone, you can call your service provider and request the unlock code. When you unlock the Nokia 6010, you can use it with any provider and on any network.

Instructions

Getting the Unlock Code

1. Turn on your 6010 phone. To unlock your phone, your service provider first needs its IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number.

2. Enter *#06# on the keypad. Your phone will display a string of numbers.

3. Copy the first 15 digits of that string of numbers. This is your phone's IMEI number.

4. Call your service provider's customer support. Say that you want to unlock your Nokia 6010. Give your phone's IMEI when prompted.

5. Copy the unlock code.

6. Turn off your Nokia 6010.

7. Remove your phone's back plate, then remove its battery. Slide out the SIM card, which is located near the bottom.

Simple weather instruments let you track weather conditions.

Setting up a home weather station is an interesting and educational activity for both young and old. To get a good idea of what the weather conditions are like where you live, you'll need devices to measure barometric pressure, humidity, temperature and wind speed. Instruments for measuring weather don't have to be expensive or complicated; you can purchase them cheaply or even build your own.

Measuring Temperature

Thermometers measure the temperature of the surrounding air.

How hot or cold it is outside affects nearly everything you do. The clothing you where and what activities you engage in all affected by the temperature. A thermometer is a simple device used to measure how hot or cold the air around it is. The simplest thermometers consist of a sealed glass tube with a large bulb on one end. The tube is partially filled with alcohol or colored water that changes its level as the temperature surrounding it rises and falls. There are numbers printed on the thermometer, and the level of the fluid in the glass tube will match up with the numbers so that you can see what the temperature is. Other thermometers are digital, and use a heat-sensitive thermocouple to measure the temperature of the environment around them. The temperature is displayed on a small screen in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Measuring Humidity

A hygrometer lets you determine the humidity of the air.

Humidity, the amount of water vapor in the air, is another important factor that influences the weather. A hygrometer is a simple device used to measure the amount of humidity in the air. Because humidity is difficult to measure directly, hygrometers measure humidity by measuring the effect that humidity in the air has on a part of the device. One of the earliest types of hygrometer used human hair or horsehair to indicate the amount of water vapor in the air. If you have curly hair, you may have noticed that your hair is harder to handle on humid days. This is because hair relaxes and gets longer as it absorbs moisture. Humidity in the air can also affect temperature and barometric pressure. Using a hygrometer to determine the humidity of the air can help you predict precipitation.

Measuring Wind

A weather vane indicates wind direction.

The wind is produced by changing masses of hot and cold air. There are several simple devices useful for measuring both wind speed and direction. A weather vane points in the direction that the wind is coming from because the rear portion of the weather vane has a larger surface area than the arrow in front. When the wind blows, it pushes the larger rear panel around in the direction the wind is blowing, and the arrow points in the direction the wind is coming from. Placing indicator markers underneath the weather vane aligned to North, South, East and West allow you to see exactly which direction the wind is coming from. An anemometer is a simple instrument for calculating wind speed. It consists of a set of shallow cups mounted on arms connected to a shaft. When the wind blows, the cups spin around the shaft; by counting the number of rotations over a given period of time, you can calculate wind velocity.

Measuring Atmospheric Pressure

A barometer measures atmospheric pressure.

Atmospheric pressure is an important factor for predicting changes in the weather. The atmosphere exerts pressure on the surface of the earth that can vary as temperature and humidity change. Falling atmospheric pressure indicates a possibility of inclement weather, while rising air pressure tends to predict fair weather. A barometer is a simple instrument used to measure the rising and falling of atmospheric pressure as weather conditions change. Some barometers operate by measuring changes in the level of mercury in a sealed glass tube. Others use a small capsule that has had the air inside it removed. These aneroid barometers have indicator hands that move as the pressure of the outside air compresses the capsule or allows it to expand.

Transferring your old activation to a new cell phone is simple.

Cell phone providers will generally give you major discounts before your wireless contract expires to keep your business. These discounts enable you to upgrade your current cell phone for a newer model and even better mobile device. If you are taking advantage of a deal such as this one, or you simply bought a new cell phone, you will need to activate it to begin using it. Major cell phone providers such as AT&T, Verizon and Sprint give you the option to transfer your current's phone activation to a new phone online.

Instructions

AT&T

1. Browse to the AT&T Wireless "Activate Your Phone" page (see Resources). Click the check box displayed beside where it says "Upgrade phone." This is the option that will activate the new phone.

2. Enter your wireless number in the "Wireless number" field, select your preferred verification method (e.g., billing or shipping zip code, last four digits of your Social Security or last four digits of your Tax ID number). Thereafter, enter the verification number you selected in the field locate next to where it says "Verification number."

3. Click the "Next" tab and follow the personalized prompts that will activate your new phone. This will involve selecting the number you want to activate if you have more than one number, plus entering information about your new phone. The steps to enter your phone information will vary depending on your phone; however, AT&T will guide you according to your specific phone.

Verizon

4. Browse to the Verizon "Sign In To My Verizon" page (see Resources). Sign in to your account using your user ID or cell phone number and password. Click the "Activate a Device" tab displayed on the bottom region of your profile, beneath where it says "Device."

5. Click the "Next" tab on the "Activate Device" page. Verizon will automatically check the status of Backup Assistant on your line so your current mobile contacts are transferred to the new phone you are activating.

6. Follow the personalized instructions that will vary depending on the cell phone you have purchased (type of phone, new phone, used phone). However, these prompts will ask you to confirm your Social Security number and provide information displayed on the receipt if the phone is new. Also, depending on your type of device, you may have to open its back (where the battery is located) to access the ESN or the MEID number. Once you are finished following the prompts, you will be redirected to the confirmation page that will prompt you to dial *228 on your new phone to program by following the phone-based instructions.

Sprint

7. Navigate to the Sprint "Sign In" Web page (see Resources). Sign on to your account using your user name and password.

8. Click the "Activate a new phone" option displayed beside where your cell phone number is displayed, beneath where it says "My Phone & Plan." Click the "Activate a new phone" option displayed beside where your cell phone number is displayed, beneath where it says "My Phone & Plan."

9. Click the "Activate it now" link displayed beneath where it says "Already have a new phone." Fill out the information required to proceed. You will be prompted to enter your phone's code (ESN), which is displayed on the back of your phone underneath your battery. Enter your email address in the "Email address" field and click the "Continue" tab.

10. Verify that you are activating and deactivating the right phones on the "Confirm Your Phones" page and click the "Continue" tab. Verify the information displayed on the "Your Current Plan" page and click the "Complete Activation" tab displayed on the bottom right of the page.

11. Click the link that says "Click this link to open the programming instructions" to program your specific phone. Once you have taken note of this information, click the "Continue" tab and you are finished.

Set Up Linksys

Setting up a Linksys router is not difficult.

The main reason for setting up a Linksys wireless router on your home network is to add wireless roaming capabilities for laptops and gaming equipment. A router also allows you to tether up to four additional computers via Ethernet cables. This makes a Linksys wireless router a versatile piece of equipment that really brings a network to life. What is even better about setting up a Linksys router is how easy the basic setup really is.

Instructions

1. Plug an Ethernet cable into the "Ethernet" or "To Computer" port located on the back of your Internet modem.

2. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the WAN (Wide Area Network) port located on the back of the Linksys router. The WAN port is segregated from the four LAN (Local Area Network) ports also located on the back of the router.

3. Connect the power adapter plug into the power port located on the back of the Linksys router and then connect the other end into a power outlet. This powers the router on. It does not have a power switch.

4. Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports located on the back of the router and then plug the other end of the cable into the Ethernet port for the computer you want to tether to the router. If you want all computers to connect wirelessly, skip this step. If you have additional computers that you want hard-wired, repeat this step for each computer. Again, you can tether four computers to one router.

5. Access the Wi-Fi Manager by clicking on the manager icon located in the task tray on the bottom right of your computer screen. Turn Wi-Fi on via the drop-down box located in the bottom left of the manager. The manager automatically searches for your network. Once located, highlight the network name and click on "Connect." Complete this step for each computer you want wirelessly connected to the network.

Unlock Tmobile Cell Phones

By unlocking a T-Mobile cell phone, you can choose another wireless carrier

If you own a T-Mobile phone and wish to use the phone with another wireless carrier or use an international SIM card when traveling, then you will need to unlock your phone. The SIM lock is used to prevent T-Mobile cell phones from operating on another carrier, but in many cases after as little as 40 days of service you can request the unlock code. You can also request the code if you are a former customer. This will give you the freedom to choose whichever wireless carrier you want, and not have to give up a phone you like.

Instructions

Unlocking the Phone with T-Mobile

1. Have the phone that you want to unlock available.

2. Call T-Mobile customer care at 1-800-937-8997. Provide the cell phone number, name on the account, the last four digits of the account owner's Social Security number and a password if one has been set.

3. Speak to a live representative. Ask for the phone's unlock code. As of December 2010, a T-Mobile Postpaid plan customer will need a minimum of 40 days active service with T-Mobile. A Prepaid plan customer will need a minimum of 60 days active service and either a balance of $10 or to have purchased a refill within the past 30 days.

4. If the phone is no longer active on a current account, if there are numerous phones on the account, or the T-Mobile account has been canceled, the representative will need the phone's IMEI number. Your Nokia E71 cellphone is Bluetooth-enabled and using this technology, you can connect wirelessly to your Jawbone 2 headset. You can then use the phone without having to hold it to your ear. To initiate this procedure, you put the Jawbone headset into pairing mode and then use the Nokia cellphone to search for it.

Instructions

1. Plug the Jawbone 2 charger into an electrical outlet and plug the other end into the back of the headset. Allow the device to charge until the indicator light changes from red to white, which may require up to 50 minutes. Disconnect the charger from the device when the indicator light changes.

When you create an application for use on Nokia phones, the installer is encoded as a SIS file. Before distributing a SIS file, you must first "sign" that file with a digital security certificate. To sign your file, you must download a free Symbian signing application. Once the application is installed, then you can apply a digital certificate to your SIS file with just a few clicks.

Instructions

1. Obtain the digital certificate that you wish to apply to your application. You can obtain either a Symbian Signed certificate from a certification authority or you can use a self-signed certificate that you generate yourself with an application.

Self-signed certificates work for applications that do not require access to network services, user environment variables, local services or user data. Symbian Signed certificates are appropriate for applications that need administrator-level access to system processes. Obtaining a Symbian Signed certificate requires applying to a certification authority, paying a fee and submitting your application for testing.

Keep It Sturdy

One of the most important aspects of filming is keeping the camera steady. This will prevent shaky images which are not pleasant to the eye. You can purchase a tripod for the Flip camera to help keep shots steady. However, Flip cameras are intended to be used on the go, and carrying a tripod with you at all times may not be practical. Instead, use one hand to hold the camera, and use your other hand as a brace for your recording arm's elbow. You can also keep your shooting elbow tight to your body, allowing you to have more control of the device. If possible, avoid panning too rapidly as this will cause subjects to drop out of focus.

The Zoom

If possible, limit the amount of times you use the zoom feature while recording. While zooming, the image will lose resolution. Think of it like staring at a painting from very close up. Instead of seeing the image as a whole, you see the various specs and strokes. Instead of zooming, hold the camera and walk toward the subject of interest. If you are conducting an interview with a Flip camera, do not zoom to get a tighter shot. Instead, place the camera at a desired range and let it sit. This allows the microphone to pick up the audio at a closer range as well.

Ambient Noise

Ambient noise can add texture and atmosphere to your shot if there is a reason for it. For example, if you are shooting a man-on-the-street interview, it might be impossible to eliminate the sounds of traffic or people passing by. Instead of shooting around this, incorporate it into the scene. Start the shot by showing the location -- known as an establishing shot -- so that the ambient noise is explained. If you do not want ambient noise, make sure to film in a sound proof room or controlled environment.

Window switches are a common source of power window problems.

Most automotive power window failures are due to a failed window switch. However, fuses, wires and electric motors may fail too. The next steps require a little knowledge of electrical circuit operation, but if you want to learn basic troubleshooting procedures, these steps should work for most car models. If you need specific information about your particular vehicle, consult your vehicle service manual.

Instructions

1. Park your car in a safe place. If your power windows only operate with the ignition switch on, make sure to leave it on. Also, if the driver's window panel has a lock control switch, make sure it is in the "On" position to allow the use of individual window switches.

2. Check the main power window fuse or breaker if none of the windows in the vehicle works. In most models, the fuse box is located under the dashboard, on the driver's side. If the fuse is blown, replace it and check to see if the windows will operate.

3. Check the wires between the master control switch and the fuse box using a test light. On most vehicles, you can pull the control switch off the panel using a screwdriver. Clip the end of the test light wire to a good ground. Turn on the ignition switch and with the tip of the test light, touch the wires connected to the control switch. If the test light does not come on, voltage is not reaching the switch. Most likely, your problem is at the wire coming from the fuse box, the wire feeding power to the power window switch or wire connections.

4. Check the switch at the inoperative window if only that window is not working. In most vehicle models, you can pull the switch using a screwdriver. Clip the end of the test light to a ground and touch both ends of the switch electrical connectors as you operate the switch. If the test light does not come on, check for an opening at the wire coming from the main control switch. If the test light only comes on at one side of the switch, the switch is defective and should be replaced. If the light comes on at both sides of the switch, go on to the next step.

5. Remove the door panel so you can reach the power window motor. At the window motor electrical connector, touch the wire coming from the switch with the test light as you operate the switch. If the light does not come on, there is a short at the wire. If the light comes on, make sure the wire connection is good and there is not a mechanical obstruction preventing the window from operating.

6. Unplug the electrical connector from the power window motor. Place a car battery next to the window you are testing and connect two jumper wires between the battery and the motor electrical connector. If the motor still does not operate, replace the motor. If the motor works, there is a failed connection at the switch side of the electrical connector.

6. Select "Change Storage Device" and select the SD card. This will move the picture onto the card.

Instructions

Opening the Mac Pro Case

1. Locate the lever. On the Mac Pro, there is a lever that needs to be positioned correctly in order to remove the case. The lever is rectangular in shape, positioned vertically, and sits flush with the face of the back panel.

2. Flip the lever. Apply pressure on the top portion of the lever with your thumb. This will cause the bottom portion of the lever to pop outward from the case. Pull out on the bottom portion until you feel a light snap. This is a sign that the locking mechanism has been released. The lever should stay in the outward position that it is currently in.

3. Fold down the side panel. The removable side panel is located on the same side of the Mac Pro as the lever. You may have to lift the panel up slightly and pull outward to release it from the rest of the case. The side panel should now be completely free and positioned where you can easily lift it away from the rest of the case.

Opening the MacBook Pro Case

4. Make sure that the screen is flipped down and closed. Then flip the computer so that it is upside down--with the base facing upward and the screen facing downward--on a clean, flat surface.

5. Locate and remove screws. There are a total of 10 screws on the bottom of the MacBook Pro, all located near the edge. Three of the screws, located in the upper right corner on the hinge side of the MacBook Pro, will be slightly longer than the others. Be sure to take note of which holes these screws came out of. Remove all 10 screws.

6. Remove the bottom case. Starting at the hinge side, take a firm grip on the bottom case of the MacBook Pro and pull up. The case should just pop off.

Opening the MacBook Case

7. Make sure that the screen is flipped down and closed. Then flip the MacBook so that it is upside down--with the base facing upward and the screen facing downward--on a clean, flat surface.

8. Remove the battery. This can be done with any coin, though a nickel works best. There is a round, slotted-looking piece located just to the left of the battery. It is marked with a picture of a closed lock and an opened lock. Insert the coin into the slot and twist the lock until it is positioned next to the opened lock picture. The battery should pop up. Lift up on the battery to remove it and set it aside.

9. Remove the memory cover. There is an L-shaped memory cover located along the two inner sides of the rectangular-shaped battery bay. Unscrew the memory cover's four screws to release it. Three of the screws are located along the wide side of the battery bay, and one screw is located along the short side of the battery bay (facing the lock). Pull the L-shaped bracket outward and place it to the side.

Use a Belkin Bluetooth

1. The first step is to pair your headset with your cell phone. Pairing is required only for the first use. Once your headset is paired to a particular device, you do not need to do it again. Start the process by turning your Bluetooth off and your phone on.

2. Locate the "Talk" button on your headset and hold it until the LED light on the headset alternates between red and blue. The talk button is located on the very top of the headset.

3. Enable bluetooth connectivity on the phone by pressing the center select key, in the center of the silver navigation keypad. This will take you to the phone's main menu.

4. Use the navigation key to scroll to "Settings" and press the center select key.

5. Now scroll to "Connectivity" and press the center select key again.

6. You will now see the option "Bluetooth." Press the center select key to select this option.

7. Press the center select key again to select "Bluetooth" again.

8. Scroll to "Yes" and press the center select key to activate bluetooth on your phone.

9. After activating bluetooth, you will be taken back to the main bluetooth menu. Scroll to "Search audio enhancements" and press the center select key. This will make your phone search for any available bluetooth devices.

10. When your phone recognizes your bluetooth headset, "Belkin" will appear as an available device. Scroll to it and press the center select key to select your headset. If you are prompted to enter a passkey to connect, enter 0000 to finish pairing your phone and headset.

11. For incoming calls, you can either answer it by pressing the "Talk" button on your phone or by pressing the "Talk" button on your bluetooth.

12. To end a call, press either the "End" button on your phone or the "Talk" button on your headset.

13. To make a call, dial the number and press send on your phone just as you would without the bluetooth connected to it, and the call will automatically forward to your headset if it is connected to your phone.

What Does The Blinking Mail Mean On The Nokia Nuron

The Nokia Nuron's status bar displays several icons to alert you to different actions on your phone. The blinking envelope icon appears in the upper right corner of the screen. Though the icon is similar to the text messaging icon, it relates to the SIM card installed in your phone.

Cause

A stationary envelope icon on the status bar of the Nokia Nuron indicates an unread message in the Messaging section of the phone, which handles SMS and MMS messages. Opening unread messages makes the envelope disappear. Though the blinking envelope uses the same image as the SMS and MMS messages icon, it is not associated with standard SMS and MMS messages. A blinking envelope indicates the SIM message memory is full. SIM messages are similar to text messages, except they are stored in your phone's

Solution

You can access your SIM card messages by opening "Messaging" on your phone and selecting "SIM Messages." A list of your messages appears on the screen. Though SIM messages are similar to text messages, you can't view them from the "SIM Messages" menu. To view the messages, select all of the messages you want to read, select "Copy" and then place them in one of the folders. Once the SIM messages are copied, select them all using the "Mark All" option and select "Delete." The blinking envelope icon on the status bar should disappear once the messages are deleted from the SIM card. If the envelope doesn't immediately disappear, restart the phone.

Prevention

SIM cards don't have much memory, and you might see the blinking envelope again if you continue to receive SIM messages. Nokia did not design a setting to prevent messages from automatically saving to your SIM card. To keep the SIM card memory from filling, you will have to monitor your SIM card messages regularly. In addition, the Nokia Nuron does not have a native text message-blocking program to block incoming messages from numbers that are routed to your SIM card. If the saved messages on your SIM card becomes a problem, contact the person sending the messages and try to work out a different mode of communication.

Considerations

The Nokia Nuron supports saving contact information directly to the SIM card instead of the phone's memory. Though contact information only takes up a small amount of memory, it does limit the amount of memory available for SIM card messages. To limit how often you need to delete SIM messages, save your contacts to the phone's internal memory.

Telephones in the price range from $9.99 to $14.99 include the LG 100C; the Samsung T105G, T101G and T155G; Motorola W175g and C139; and the Kyocera K 126C.

Units that range from $19.99 to $29.99 include the LG 410G, 420G, 220C, 231C and 200C; and the Motorola W260g, W376g, C261, V176 and V170.

Telephones that range from $39 to $49 are the LG 600G, 290C, 225 and 3280; the Samsung T301G; and the Motorola W370.

Double Minutes

There are some TracFone telephones that automatically double the number of minutes added to your unit. (For example, you buy 60 minutes but 120 minutes are applied). Telephones that provide double minutes for the lifetime of your telephone include the LG 600G, 290C and 225; the Samsung T301G; and the Motorola W376g and W370.
