Receive Calls On A Pc With Skype

Skype is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VOiP) service that you can set up on your PC to receive free calls from other Skype members. Once you download and install the Skype program on your PC, you can make and receive calls from other Skype members. Skype also allows you to send and receive text and instant messages, transfer files, screen share, and make conference and video calls. Skype offers both paid and free services.

Instructions

1. Download and install Skype on your PC. You can find a link to download Skype in the Resources section of this article. Click the green "Download now" link to initiate the Skype download.

2. Click the new Skype icon on your PC's desktop, then click the link "Don't have a Skype Name?" A dialog box will open. Enter the Skype name you want to use. Select a password for your new Skype account and confirm the password. Enter the email address you want to associate with your Skype account. Check the box corresponding to the option that you agree to Skype's Terms and Services. Click "Create." Skype will prompt you to select a new Skype name if one you select is not available.

3. Add the people you want to receive calls from to your Skype contact list. Click "Contacts" from the toolbar, then select "Add a Contact." Enter the Skype name, full name or email address of the person you want to add to your contact list. Click "Search," then double-click the person from the list who match your search query. Click the option, "Add to contact." A box will pop up. Type a note to the person you are contacting asking them to accept your contact request and to click on the green phone icon located below your name to call you. Click "OK."

4. Wait for the person you added to your Skype contact list to confirm you as a Skype contact and to call you.

5. Click the green phone icon that pops up in your Skype window when your Skype contact initiates a call. You will see this phone call dialog box in your Skype window as soon as your Skype contact initiates the call.
