Set Up Voip In Windows Mobile

Set up VoIP on your Windows Mobile device.

An acronym for voice-over Internet protocol, VoIP is a system for making phone calls--whether on your mobile or on your personal computer--over the Internet. Calls using VoIP can dramatically decrease your service costs when conducting long distance or long, minutes-intensive calls. Although Windows Mobile is not equipped with a native VoIP application, you can download one of many third-party applications that will set up VoIP support on your device.

Instructions

Set Up VoIP in Windows Mobile with Fring

1. Go to Fring's website (see Resources). Choose your country from the drop-down menu, type your phone number and your e-mail and click "free download."

2. Open your Windows Mobile phone and access your SMS inbox. Open the SMS sent to you by Fring and tap the link.

3. Allow the installation wizard to automatically upload Fring to your Windows Mobile device. When the process is complete, submit a new Fring username and password and tap "Next." When you want to make a VoIP call, open the Fring application from your program files and type a phone number.
