Install Lighted Signs

Install a lighted sign on your home, garage, or place of business. Lighted signs lure in shoppers from the streets and make your shop or business look more inviting. Installing lighted signs the smart way will save you money. Using solar power with LED lights will repay the expense of putting up a sign in front of your home or business. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Purchase a lighted sign kit, and ask for spacing tape that matches the letters in your kit. The spacing tape is available from most lighted sign distributors. After purchasing your lighted sign kit, take it home and read any instructions in the kit.

2. Apply spacing tape to the surface of the wall where you are going to install your lighted sign. The spaces are already marked for you. Ensure that you have the spacing tape level and horizontal with the surface of the wall. Tape each end of the spacing tape to hold it in position.

3. Place masking tape over the first letter from your lighted sign kit. This is going to hold the letter in place on the wall. Apply some silicone to the back side of the letters over the pads. Place the letter on the wall over the spacing tape for the first letter. Finish putting up all the letters for your sign. Allow the silicone to dry. This will take several minutes or longer.

4. Plug the power cord into the wall or an outlet outside. The letters will light up. If you chose a solar powered kit, then you don't have to do anything after setting up the sign.
