Carriers You Can Use With The Htc Desire

The HTC Desire is a 3G network-compatible smartphone operating with Google's Android software and running a 1 gigahertz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Although other HTC devices are available through large wireless carriers, including AT&T and Verizon, the Desire has been released mostly through smaller regional network providers. Most of these carriers service areas ranging from a few states to a smaller region within a state.


Cox Wireless


In November 2010, Cox Communications became the first cable television provider in America to offer its own wireless phone service, Cox Wireless. Along with the HTC Desire, Cox Wireless also offers smartphones from manufacturers such as Samsung, Motorola and LG. Cox Wireless serves the metropolitan areas of Las Vegas, New Orleans, San Diego and Atlanta. Cox Wireless customers can receive an extra $20 off their bill for unused minutes on their HTC Desire's monthly plan; the provider also sends text alerts if a customer nears any usage limits.


C Spire


The HTC Desire is also available to C Spire Wireless customers. Based in Ridgeland, Mississippi, C Spire Wireless advertises itself as the nation's largest privately-held wireless company. In 2010, C Spire Wireless customers downloaded a total of 1.8 petabytes, or about 1,887,400 gigabytes, worth of data. C Spire Wireless was formerly known as Cellular South before the company changed its name in 2011.


nTelos Wireless


The HTC Desire became the third Android-powered smartphone offered by wireless carrier nTelos Wireless as of October 2010.The nTelos Wireless regional network, headquartered in Waynesboro, Virginia, serves wireless customers in Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and Maryland. NTelos Wireless also offers the HTC Merge smartphone device along with other smartphones from Samsung, LG and Motorola.


Cellcom


Cellcom is a wireless carrier provider covering Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula area. Cellcom offered the HTC Desire Android smartphone to customers for a promotional price of $99.95 as of November 2011, after a $100 mail-in rebate and signing a two-year contract. New Cellcom customers have 30 days to return their HTC Desire or other smartphones for a full refund if unsatisfied with Cellcom's service.
