W850i is a phone manufactured by Sony Ericsson. If your phone is currently locked to a particular network carrier, you can obtain an unlock code for it so the phone starts working with the network of your choice. The advantage is that you will be able to use the phone in any part of the world and put a SIM card of any local network. Besides, unlocking the W850i to all networks increases its resale value, too.
Instructions
1. Press *#06# on the phone's keypad to see the phone's IMEI number. You're going to need this number to get the unlock code for SE W850i.
2. Go to Unlocking.com (see the Resources section), and click the "Unlock now" button. The next page will ask you to provide your name, email address and the phone's IMEI number. Click the "Continue" button when you're ready to make the payment. You will have to provide the credit card details to obtain the code via email.
3. Go to Cellfservices.com (see Resources), scroll down the page, provide the phone's IMEI number, choose Sony Ericsson as the manufacturer and select W850i as the model. Then click the button "Add to cart", and make the payment on the next page through your credit card. You will then receive the code via email.
4. Go to UnlockitNow.com (see Resources), and provide your name and email address. Also, select the network that your phone is locked to from the drop-down list. Lastly, enter the phone's IMEI number, and click on "Place order." You will then be taken to a page where you can enter your credit card details to buy the code. When it's all done, you will receive the code through email.
5. Start your phone without a SIM, and enter the code provided by the website. When you purchase the code, the company sends along detailed instructions on use the unlock code. You are generally required to power on the cellphone without any SIM, and then enter the unlock code on the blank screen.
