Set Up Call Forwarding

Transfer your calls

Call forwarding is a feature offered by most telephone companies that allows you to forward any calls that would be coming in on one particular phone line to another phone line. This is particularly useful when you're planning to travel and want your business calls forwarded to your cell phone for the duration of your travels. Setting up call forwarding may vary slightly from one phone company to another, but the process is typically about the same.

Instructions

1. Notify the provider of the phone line that you want to forward all incoming calls to a different phone line for a set period of time. Your phone company can usually set up call forwarding on your account so any call coming in on your line will be transferred to another line. Having the phone provider set this up for you is typically reserved for people who want calls forwarded for an extended period of time. If you want to have full control over which calls are automatically forwarded from a phone line, ask the phone line to set up the call forwarding service on your phone line so you can choose which calls are forwarded.

2. Dial *72 and then the forwarding number to automatically transfer all calls to the forwarding number. To deactivate call forwarding for all numbers, dial *73.

3. Punch in *68 plus the forwarding number to have all calls that come in and reach a busy signal or no answer forwarded to a different number. To deactivate call forwarding for busy-signal or no-answer calls, dial *88.

4. Pick up the phone and dial *90 plus the forwarding number to have calls that would reach a busy signal on a phone line to be forwarded to a different number. To deactivate call forwarding for busy-signal calls only, dial *91.

5. Push *92 plus the forwarding number to have calls that aren't answered after a certain number of rings to be forward to a different line. To deactivate call forwarding for no-answer calls, dial *93.
