Use The Pantech Duo

The Pantech Duo, named for the dual slider design, was released on the AT&T network November 2007 with Windows Mobile 6 OS. The phone originally retailed at $299.99 without a two-year contract. The Duo comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and a 1.3-megapixel camera. Other features include Bluetooth capabilities, a 2.2-inch Quarter Video Graphics Array display and an email function. Once you learn the basic operating instructions, you can access other features of the phone such as the music and video functions.


Instructions


1. Turn on the Pantech Duo by pressing and holding the "End/Power" button until the Duo boots up. The "End/Power" button is the button with the image of a red phone.


2. Insert the SIM card by turning the phone off using the "End/Power" button. Flip the phone over and remove the battery compartment door by pressing the release latch. Remove the battery and insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot. Reinsert the battery and snap the battery compartment door securely into place. Turn on the phone.


3. Place a call using the keypad. Enter the number you want to call. Press the "Send" key. The "Send" key is the key with the image of a green phone. To accept a call, press the "Send" key. Press the "End/Power" button to end or reject a call.


4. Retrieve and edit voicemail by pressing and holding the "1" key. You may also access your voice mail from a landline by dialing your phone number and pressing the "*" key when the voice mail greetings begins. Wait for the password prompt and enter your password. First-time users need to enter the seven-digit mobile number as the temporary password. Listen to the system prompts to create your permanent password and greeting.


5. Disable "Auto Update" by pressing "Start" on the home screen. Select "All Programs" and choose "Settings." Under "Settings," choose "Clock & Alarm." Choose "Auto Update" and select "Status." Turn "Status" to "Off" and select "Done." You can now set the time and date by pressing "Start" on the home screen. Select "All Programs" and choose "Settings." Under "Settings," choose "Clock & Alarm" and select "Date and Time," pick your time zone and enter the appropriate date. Update the time and press "Done." Disable "Auto Update" before setting the time and date.


6. Press "Start" on the home screen and choose "Messaging" to send a text message. Press "Messages" and choose "Menu" on the lower right side of the "Messages" page. Select "New" and navigate to "Text Message." In the "To" field, enter the 10-digit number or email address of the person you want to text. Use the keypad to enter the desired message and press "Send" in the lower left of the "Messages" page.


7. Receive a text by selecting "Start" on the home screen and choosing "Messaging." Press "Messages" and highlight the message you want to view. Press "OK" to open the message. To delete a message, select "Delete" on the lower left side of the "Messages" page. Confirm deletion by selecting "Yes."
