Install the Nemesis Service Suite application onto the computer to unbrand the Nokia 6288 phone.
The Nokia 6288 is a model of Nokia cell phone. The Nemesis Service Suite, or NSS, is a software program which may be used to unbrand Nokia cell phones by changing the device's product code. A connection may be established between the Nokia 6288 and the Nemesis Service Suite application via an USB cable that links the Nokia 6288 to a computer that has the Nemesis Service Suite application installed. To make this connection work, however, the Nemesis Service Suite application must be properly set up during installation.
Instructions
1. Log in to the computer using an account with administrator privileges. You will not be able to install the Nemesis Service Suite onto your computer unless you're logged into the computer with a user account that has all access rights.
2. Download the latest Nemesis Service Suite ZIP file from the B-Phreaks website. (See the download link in the Resources). Save the ZIP folder to a directory on your computer's hard drive.
3. Navigate to the directory location where the Nemesis Service Suite ZIP file was saved in Step 2. Right-click on the folder and select "Extract All" from the pop-up shortcut menu to launch the Windows Extraction Wizard. Follow the wizard's prompts to unzip the contents of the zipped folder.
4. Open the unzipped Nemesis Service Suite folder. Double-click the Nemesis Service Suite execution file. Click "Run" to launch the application's installation wizard. Follow the wizard's prompts to install the Nemesis Service Suite application onto the computer. When prompted to "Select from the following the service devices you will be using after the installation," select "Virtual USB device."
5. Turn on the Nokia 6288. (The power button is located on the top side of the phone.)
6. Insert one end of the USB data cable, which should have come included with the Nokia 6288 package contents, into the connector port located on the bottom edge of the phone. Plug the other end of the USB data cable into an available USB port on the computer. (If you need a new USB data cable for your phone, you may purchase one through the online Nokia store. See the links in Resources.)
7. Launch the Nemesis Service Suite application.
8. Select "Scan for new device" in the top-right fourth of the Nemesis Service Suite window.
