Send Your Phone Contacts To Your Mac Bluetooth

Transfer Phone Contacts to Mac using Bluetooth

Macintosh computers running the OS X operating system have iSync preinstalled for transferring calendar and address book information between the computer and a mobile device. Mobile phones supported by iSync with Bluetooth connectivity can connect wirelessly to transfer contact information. Once a supported phone is paired with the computer using Bluetooth, users can transfer the contacts on their phone to the Address Book application on their Macintosh computer.

Instructions

Pair Phone with Computer

1. Click on the "System Preferences" icon in the Dock. Open the Bluetooth Preference Pane by clicking on the "Bluetooth" icon.

2. Click "Set Up New Device" in the Bluetooth Preference Pane. If prompted, click "Turn Bluetooth On" to enable Bluetooth on the computer.

3. Enable Bluetooth on the mobile phone using the Bluetooth Setting menu. Make sure the phone is in Discoverable mode so the computer can find the phone to establish a connection.

4. Select your phone from the list presented in the Bluetooth Setup Assistant window and click "Continue."

5. Enter the passkey displayed on the computer when prompted by the mobile phone.

6. Click "Continue" at the next screen to finish pairing the mobile phone with the computer. Enter the administrator user name and password if promoted. Click "Quit" to exit the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.

Transfer Information Using iSync

7. Launch iSync by clicking the icon in the Applications folder. Click "Sync Devices" to allow the computer to search for your mobile phone.

8. Select your mobile phone from the list of connected devices by double-clicking on the phone. This adds the phone to the iSync application window.

9. Choose the contact information on your phone to send to the computer's Address Book application. Check the "Automatically synchronize when device is connected" check box to transfer information automatically whenever the phone is connected to the computer.

10. Choose Address Book entries on your computer to transfer to the mobile phone if desired. You can also transfer calendar information to the mobile phone.

11. Click "Sync Devices" to transfer the selected information. Disconnect the mobile phone from the computer in the Bluetooth Preference Pane when the transfer is complete. Turn off Bluetooth on the computer and mobile phone.
