Check Nokia N95

Raise the volume by pushing "Volume" on the right edge of the phone.


The Nokia N95 is a multi-function cell phone with the slide feature. Upon receiving your Nokia, you might have questions about its basic functions. You'll want to make sure your phone is working properly before relying on it as your primary means of communication. Navigating a few steps and performing your own testing will have you operating your phone efficiently in little time.


Instructions


1. Power your phone by inserting the SIM card and battery into your phone. Turn the phone over in your hands, so the back is facing you, and press the cover release button on the bottom of the cover with your finger. Slide the cover away. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot (shaped like a SIM card) with the metal contacts facing down. Insert the battery on top of the SIM card with its metal contacts facing the metal contacts inside the battery chamber. Replace the battery cover on top of the battery chamber by aligning the grooves on the cover with the brackets on the chamber and pressing the cover down, until it snaps into place.


2. Charge the battery by inserting the small end of the charger into the jack on the bottom of the phone to the left. Plug the pronged end of the charger into a functional wall outlet. You will see a battery icon appear on the display. When you a full battery icon, the battery is fully charged.


3. Turn your phone on by pushing and holding the "Power" button (located on the top edge of your phone). You might be prompted to enter a PIN (which will have been decided by you and your service provider upon activation). If you don't have a PIN, slide the phone display upward (by pushing it in and up with you thumb) to reveal the numbered keypad and enter the Nokia factory lock code "12345." You will see the main menu of your phone appear on the display.


4. Place a call by moving the display upward to reveal the numbered keypad and entering in the 10-digit number of the party you wish to call. You will see the numbers appear on the screen as you type them. If you enter a number incorrectly, push the "C (Clear)" key (located above the "3" key) to delete the last number entered. When the number has been entered correctly, push the "Call" key (the green key located above the "1" key). Put the phone's speaker (located above the display) to your ear and listen for a ringtone.


5. Activate the camera feature by first pushing the "Camera" button (located on the lower right edge of the phone). The lens cover on the back of the phone will open to reveal the lens. Compose your image in the monitor. When you're satisfied with the composition, push the "Camera" button halfway down to automatically focus on the subject. You will see a green indicator light appear on the display, letting you know the subject is in focus. Fully depress the "Camera" button, and the phone will capture the image.
