Hd 3650 Requirements

The ATI Radeon HD 3650 video card has some modest requirements.

The ATI Radeon HD 3650 from AMD Technologies is a DirectX 10.1-compatible video card that supports high-definition playback up to 1080p, meaning it will support the latest high-definition video files, provided your monitor can support their resolutions. Your PC also has to meet other requirements before the video card can be used to its full potential.

PCI-E Support

Before you can use the ATI Radeon HD 3650 in any capacity, you must first have a computer that can support the hardware. A PC that has a motherboard that features a PCI-E (PCI Express) slot is necessary, specifically a PCI-E X16 slot. If you are unsure if you have a PCI-E x16 slot, it is easily identifiable, as it consists of a single long slot followed closely by a shorter slot. The shorter slot often has some sort of lever to release the video card.

Operating System

While the ATI Radeon HD 3650 works on any of the popular Windows operating system platforms, the card will not work if you do not have the proper software drivers. Basic drivers are included with a new Radeon HD 3650, but if you have acquired a used card you will likely have to download the drivers from ATI's website. Remember that each operating system has its own drivers, meaning Windows XP drivers will not work with Windows 7. AMD also offers driver support for several versions of Linux, in case your PC doesn't run Windows.

Power Supply

Because of the significant electrical consumption of the ATI Radeon HD 3650 video card, there are some power source requirements. AMD recommends that any computer that has a Radeon HD 3650 video card also have a power source that is certified to support both ATI video cards and ATI CrossFireX technology. If using a single Radeon HD 3650 card, you must have a power supply of at least 400 watts. If utilizing a dual card setup with CrossFireX, a 550-watt power supply is required.

RAM

Because the Radeon HD 3650 can process high-end computer graphics as well as stream high-definition video, a computer that uses the card requires some extra memory. In fact, at least 1 gigabyte of RAM is required for the Radeon HD 3650 to be able to run properly. Depending on the operating system, this figure may be slightly lower or slightly higher.
