Sprint cell phone customers can create free ringtones for their phones on various websites. Individuals who own the Sprint Instinct, however, have been known to have difficulty receiving ringtones from these websites for one reason or another. Fortunately, Sprint customers who create free ringtones on the Myxer website can easily add those ringtones to the Instinct. All it takes is a quick fix to make the website work properly. Here is how you can create ringtones for the Sprint Instinct.
Instructions
1. Create a free Myxer account (see Resources below). Sprint users must create an account with Myxer to put ringtones on the Instinct. Fill out the required information on the Myxer registration website and then submit that information. You will receive an email from Myxer with a confirmation link. Click that link to begin using Myxer to make free Sprint Instinct ringtones.
2. Head back to the Myxer home page (see Resources below) and click "Sign in" to enter your account.
3. Click the "Account" link to get to your Myxer account settings.
4. Click the "Change SMS Address" link located underneath the "Account Management" heading.
5. Type "Yourcellphonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com"into the "New SMS Address" text box: There should be no spaces in between the numbers. When typing the number, it should look like this:
5555555555@messaging.sprintpcs.com.
Click "Change" when you're done. Then, find and click the "Make Your Own" option near the top of the Myxer Web page.
6. Upload the song from your computer that you want to make into a Sprint Instinct ringtone. To upload the song, click the "Browse" tab and search for the song that is on your computer. Select that song and then click the "Customize" tab to edit the Sprint Instinct ringtone.
7. Move the box located in the "Select a Section" portion of the page to choose where your ringtone begins and ends. Your ringtone should be no longer than 30 seconds.
8. Click the "Volume" tab to change how loud the default setting of the ringtone will be on your Sprint Instinct.
9. Click "Send to Phone" when you're finished and the ringtone will be sent to your Sprint Instinct.
