Bluetooth technology can create many networking and communication advantages for your computer's functionality. Enabling Bluetooth technology on your computer requires only the installation of a Bluetooth dongle, which is a USB adapter that serves as a wireless protocol software driver. This enables your computer to connect with other compatible devices.
Instructions
1. Check to see if your system meets the requirements needed to implement the Bluetooth feature. The packaging should state the system requirements.
2. Plug your Bluetooth dongle into one of your computer's available USB ports; the first-stage USB port is recommended. Your operating system will search for the newly applied hardware.
3. Allow the InstallShield Wizard to install the dongle's driver software. This driver software is basically what a CD-ROM setup disc is. This expedites the process and eliminates the need for a setup disc. Once this process is complete, the InstallShield Wizard will display some type of notification stating this.
4. Click "Close" or "Finish" to conclude the initial installation. Restart your computer to configure your newly installed device and allow your computer to completely process the recent changes. This will allow your computer to refresh and configure the new installation's settings to your hard drive.
5. Allow for your computer to make the necessary changes to further configure your Bluetooth dongle installation. This process could take a few minutes. Do not remove the Bluetooth dongle or click anything while the computer configures and reboots.
6. Review the icons displayed on your computer's desktop after the reboot is complete. You should see a new Bluetooth icon designated for your Bluetooth module.
7. Double-click on this icon, and your Bluetooth dongle module should appear in a dialog box. Test your Bluetooth dongle device by attempting to discover another device. You do not have to configure another device; just simply click "Add New Device" in your Bluetooth module. The "Bluetooth Add Device" wizard should appear and begin searching for a new device. If your computer searches and discovers successfully, your Bluetooth device is now working properly.
