Unlock A Nokia 5300 Memory Card

SD and microSD cards are used in many different devices.

The Nokia 5300's memory can be expanded by inserting an aftermarket microSD memory card. A microSD card is typically used in cell phones, but can be inserted and read by other devices including your computer by using the converter that is typically included with the card. With the microSD card inserted into the converter, the converter looks and functions just like a standard SD card. The converter is an essential part of the microSD card, as it is needed to lock and unlock the microSD card.

Instructions

1. Remove the microSD card from the Nokia 5300. If you are looking at the back of the phone, the microSD card will be located on the right side. To remove the card, you must remove the battery cover and then press in on the card to release the lock. Slide the card out of the phone when it is free.

2. Insert the microSD card into the microSD card adapter. Both cards will have writing on one side and metal contacts on the other. Make sure that the writing side is up on both cards and insert the side of the microSD card with the arrow first.

3. Locate the lock switch on the adapter. It will be located on the top left of the adapter.

4. Slide the lock switch up and out of the lock position. The word lock will be written on the card to indicate the locked position. Once the switch is out of the locked position, remove the microSD card from the adapter and insert it back into the Nokia 5300. The microSD card is now ready--unlocked and ready to use.
