List Of Public Dental Schools

There are many public dental schools to choose from.

There are many public universities in the United States which offer dental school and dental programs. The benefit of attending a publicly-funded university is the low-cost of tuition for in-state residents. Prospective students who are interested in attending a public dental school should not worry about the quality of such an education; many public dental schools are ranked highly in national publications such as the US News and World Report Annual Rankings.

UCLA School of Dentistry

UCLA, a public university run by the State of California, offers many dentistry programs through its School of Dentistry. The school offers a traditional Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS), a four-year program which prepares a student for a career as a practicing dentist. Other degree programs include post-doctoral residency, training opportunities for foreign-trained dentists, and externships. Acceptance to the program is very competitive with only 88 students admitted each year.
