Do A Windows Xp Factory Restore Without A Disk

Restore your XP software to factory condition.

Microsoft Windows XP was first released in October 2005, and has since undergone several changes and adjustments. Windows XP was used primarily by all PC owners until February 2007, when Microsoft released Windows Vista. Restoring your XP back to the factory settings is not a complex process and will offer you the opportunity to start from a clean slate as if the computer is brand new.

Instructions

1. Back up any of your documents, music, pictures or programs that are important on either an external hard drive or removable media. An external hard drive is the easiest choice for backing up your data because you can connect via USB port and transfer more quickly.

2. Restart your computer, and as it is booting up press the "F11" key and hold it down momentarily. This will bring up your "Advanced Boot Menu" and you will select the "Repair Your Computer" option by using the arrow keys to navigate the cursor.

3. Enter the administrator username and password then select "Enter" key to continue. Select "Restore" option and press "Enter" key.

4. Follow the onscreen prompts to guide you through the restore process. Allow the computer to restart.

5. Select the "Set Up" information needed to proceed, including computer name, language choice, time/date and password. Your computer is now back to factory condition. Transfer the data back to the computer from the external hard drive or removable media if needed.
