TracFone offers customers the ability to purchase a modern cell phone without bills and contracts. The prepaid phones available for purchase through TracFone are manufactured by major cell-phone companies and many are some of the same phones you can find for sale through major network providers such as Sprint and Verizon. Motorola W260g
A compact flip phone, the Motorola W260g has a color screen that you can customize with wallpaper. The phone comes with voice mail and caller ID, and call waiting is available at no additional charge. TracFone features an Airtime Balance Display so you can gauge how many minutes have been used per call. For those looking for a high-tech phone, this may not be the ideal choice. It has no camera and TracFone disables the USB feature so you can't connect the W260g to a computer. A refurbished W260g listed at $124.99 as of October 2010.
Samsung T301g
Slightly more modern than the Motorola W260g, Samsung's T301g offers features other TracFone phones lack. It can be Bluetooth enabled, has a VGA camera installed and allows MMS picture messaging. The T301g is a slide phone, but there is a keypad-lock feature to prevent dialing numbers accidentally. This is a good phone for those with hearing disabilities as it is hearing-aid compatible. It listed at $29.99 as of October 2010.
Pink LG 410g
A more colorful phone choice is the Pink 410g by LG. Compact and shiny pink, it can fit well in most handbags and even a back pocket. TracFone offered a free three-piece accessory kit along with the phone. This phone features a voice recorder and a 500-entry phone book. There is no Internet nor Bluetooth service available, and no camera. TracFone does not have MMS picture messaging available on this LG model, but you can download news and sports information from the TracFone network. As of October 2010, the LG 410g is priced at $19.99.
