The Garmin Mobile XT software provides GPS options on a mobile phone.

The Garmin Mobile XT application is designed for smart phones such as the Nokia 5800. Installation is simple and takes little time.

Instructions

1. Download the installation file for Garmin (See Resources). It includes more extensive instructions and files necessary to operate the GPS package effectively. Place the file on the computer desktop.

2. Select the "Application" option on the Nokia 5800. Select "Location," then "Positioning." Select "Positioning Methods," then "Assisted GPS" and "Integrated GPS."

3. Select the "Application" option again, then "Location." Select "GPS Data," "Position" and "Options." Select "Satellite Status." This will determine how much signal the phone is receiving from a satellite.

4. Connect the mobile phone to the computer using the USB cable. Unzip the downloaded files by clicking on the file with the computer mouse. Select "Unzip." Place the files on the desktop. Select "Mass Storage Mode" on the mobile phone.

5. Open the files. Install the Garmin Mobile XT software by selecting each file individually from the unzipped files.

6. Disconnect the phone from the computer. Select the "Menu" option and "Settings" on the phone. Select "Application Manager." Install the Garmin XT files listed.
