Put Homemade Ringtones On Your Phone For Free

Put Homemade Ringtones on Your Phone for Free

You have a couple options to send a ringtone to your cell phone. Once you have the ringtone saved, sending it to your phone will be easy. How you go about setting it as your phone's ringtone will depend on your phone. You will need to follow the directions in your user's manual to set the file correctly. Not all phones will allow you to set a file as your ringtone. You also have to make sure the file is compatible with your phone.

Instructions

Sending Ringtone as Text Message

1. Open up your email and log in to your account.

2. Compose a new message. In the "Send to" field, enter the gateway address for your cell phone. Every service provider gives users the option to send an email as a text message. You just need to know the gateway address. You can find your gateway address at makeuseof.com/tag/email-to-sms.

3. Attach your ringtone to the email file. To attach a file, click on the attachment link (paperclip symbol) and navigate to your ringtone file.

4. Open the text message on your cell phone and download the attachment.

Transfer Ringtone with USB Cable

5. Connect your cell phone to your computer via the USB cable that came with your phone. Just plug the correct end into your phone and plug the other end into your computer's USB port.

6. Open your cell phone's folder on your computer. To do so, Open your "Start" menu, select "My Computer" and double click on your device. You will see it listed under "Devices with Removable Storage."

7. Open the folder where your homemade ringtone is saved.

8. Click on your ringtone and drag it into your phone's folder. You should save the ringtone to a folder on your cell phone to make it easier to find.

9. Go on your cell phone and open the folder where your ringtone is saved. Now you can set the ringtone as your ringtone however your phone allows you to do so.
