Make Phone Ringtones

There may come a time when you wish to have new ringtones to spice things up. When this time comes, making your own phone ringtones may be something that interests you. Making them lets you choose which song you hear whenever somebody calls your cell phone.

Instructions

Phonezoo

1. Fill out all of the required information on the "Create Your Phonezoo profile" Website (see Resources below). Click "Register" when you are done. You will then be taken to an activation Web page. Check your cell phone for a text message from Phonezoo. That message will have an activation code that must be entered on the Phonezoo activation page. Type that code into the text boxes to finish making your free Phonezoo account.

2. Sign into your personal Phonezoo account. After you do so, click the "Ringtones" tab.

3. Click on the "Create From File" option that will be located beneath the "Ringtones" and "Photos" tabs near the top of the page. You will then be taken to the "Create Ringtone" page.

4. Click the "Browse" tab on the "Create From File" page. Once you do, you can select any song that is on your computer. Click the "Upload" tab after you chose a song, and the file will begin to upload onto the Phonezoo server.

5. Move the orange section in the "Edit Audio" box to select the beginning point for your ringtone. To do this, click on the middle of the orange section in order to move it in the "Edit Audio" box.

6. Click either the up or down arrow next to the "Length" box in order to alter the length of your Phonezoo ringtone. Your Phonezoo ringtone shouldn't be any longer than 30 seconds.

7. Decide if you want to save the ringtone to your Phonezoo profile for later or send it directly to your cell phone. If you want to save the ringtone, click the "Save to My Zoo" tab. To send the Phonezoo ringtone to your cell phone, click "Save & Send to Phone."

Myxer

8. Visit the "Make Your Own Ringtone" page on Myxer (see Resources below). Unlike Phonezoo, you can make ringtones on Myxer without signing up for a personal account.

9. Click the "Browse" tab in the middle of the Myxer page. Select any song on your computer that you want to make into a cell phone ringtone. After you have made your choice, click the "Customize" tab.

10. Change where your ringtone begins by clicking on the gray box in the audio section at the top of the page. Move the box until you find the desired starting point for the ringtone.

11. Type a number in the "Length" box to set the size of your ringtone. Just as with Phonezoo, your Myxer ringtone shouldn't last longer than 30 seconds.

12. Type your phone number in the "Get It Now Phone Number" box. Click "Send to Phone," and your cell phone will receive either the ringtone or a download link for the file you made on Myxer. If you receive a link, you will need to open the link by using your cell phone's Web browser. Once you open the link, you will be able to click a "Download" link. Doing so will save the ringtone to your cell phone.
