Facebook is an online social network with more than 200 million users worldwide. Facebook can be integrated with a cell phone with text messaging capability or Internet connectivity. Most components of Facebook have been designed to be mobile-friendly, so users can be in touch with "friends" even when not at a computer. By activating Facebook Mobile, you will receive text messages--friend requests, messages, wall posts and status updates--to a specified cell phone. From your cell phone, you will be able to update your status, search contact information and upload videos and photos to Facebook.
Instructions
Going Mobile with Facebook
1. Log in to your Facebook account.
2. Click "Settings" on the top menu bar.
3. Click on the "Mobile" tab. You will be prompted to activate a cell phone. Click on "Register for Facebook Text Messages."
4. Make the appropriate selections in the series of three pop-up boxes, including entering your cell-phone carrier.
5. Send the message displayed to the mobile number provided in the second pop-up. Open the confirmation text message sent by Facebook to your cell phone.
6. Enter the Facebook Mobile confirmation code sent to your cell phone in the third pop-up box.
7. Select the notification options that you want Facebook to send to your cell phone. Save your preferences. You can edit preferences at any time, or cancel all Facebook updates to your cell phone.

8. Go to your Facebook home page. Click on "Mobile" at the bottom right of the page.
9. Click on "Send Me My Upload Email" to receive an email address for uploading photos to your Facebook page by email. You can send photos from your computer or cell phone to this email address.
10. Update your status by sending it as a text message to the five-digit mobile number.
11. Download a variety of interactive applications for specific cell phones and mobile service providers, including the iPhone, Palm, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Sidekick and others.
