Install Zip Files On A Nokia 6120

Upload files to your wireless phone with a USB data cable.

The Nokia 6120 wireless phone allows you to upload files directly to the phone through a USB data cable. Oftentimes when you download files from from the Internet for the Nokia 6120, it comes as a zip file. The Nokia wireless phone cannot read the zip file format, so it is extremely important you extract the data from the zipped file before loading it onto the cellular phone.

Instructions

1. Right-click the downloaded zip file and select "Extract" from the pull-down menu. A small program window appears with the zip file listed. If no extraction software is present on the computer, download the free trial version of WinZip at Winzip.com.

2. Choose a location to save the extracted contents of the zip file to. Click "Extract."

3. Launch the Nokia PC Suite program (an installation CD came with the phone). If you do not have the program you can download it from the Nokia website by selecting "Support," followed by "Download Software," then choose the "PC Suite" download.

4. Plug the USB data cable into the power port on the Nokia 6120, then insert the opposite end of the cable into a USB port on the computer. The PC Suite Nokia software automatically detects the Nokia phone.

5. Click-and-drag the extracted contents of the zip file into the open Nokia 6120 wireless phone software. This transfers the data directly to the Nokia wireless phone. Once the data transfer has finished, you can disconnect the phone.
