No Sound On Youtube With Firefox 3 6 3

YouTube sound problems in Firefox 3.6.3 are usually caused by a missing or outdated plug-ins and damages the browser. If Firefox is missing vital files necessary to function properly, you'll experience problems when you load videos on YouTube. If the volume on your computer is turned up, and videos play without sound, Firefox and YouTube provide solutions to optimize video playback.

Adobe Flash Player

YouTube plays flash-based videos, so it requires Adobe Plash Player to stream audio. If the audio on a particular video does not play but the video plays, the Flash Player is either damaged or outdated. Flash Player problems with Firefox 3.6.3 also cause choppy audio playback. In some cases, the audio will play and stop after a few seconds. Firefox recommends updating to Adobe Flash Player 10 or higher because new updates contain fixes to solve audio and video problems. Download and install the latest version from Adobe's website.

Cache

The YouTube sound problems with Firefox 3.6.3 can also be caused by browsing cache and history. If the video you're watching stops loading or won't load at all, the copy of the video is most likely stuck in your browser's cache. Restarting the browser and reopening YouTube solves temporary audio problems. If it doesn't, deleting the browsing history using the "Clear Recent History" option on the "Tools" menu can improve audio streaming. In addition, clear cache from the "Advanced" panel in the browser's "Preferences" menu to solve loading problems.

Adobe Flash Global Storage Settings

If you're still unable to hear sound on YouTube, you must enable Flash content on your computer. Visiting the Adobe Flash Global Storage Settings Panel on Adobe's website. On the player settings manager, clicking the "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer" option runs the Flash Player in Firefox 3.6.3. Restart Firefox for the changes to take effect and relaunch YouTube.

Tips and Recommendations

If the speaker volume on your computer is turned up, check the volume control on the YouTube video player. If the volume is muted, you won't hear anything. To verify whether the sound problem is with Firefox, play content such as music using another program such as QuickTime, iTunes or Windows Media Player. If you hear sound with these applications, Firefox 3.6.3 is most likely damaged, so uninstall the browser and install an updated version to improve YouTube video streaming.
