Troubleshoot a Samsung WEP200
The Samsung WEP200 is a Bluetooth-enabled headset. The headset enables users to connect to a Bluetooth-compatible computer or cell phone without wires. It is popular among drivers who want hands-free talking while driving. Occasionally, individuals may experience problems using the Samsung WEP200. Instructions
1. Make sure the headset is powered on. Press the multi-function button on the front of the WEP200. Hold the button down for 4 seconds until you see the front indicator light flash a blue light 4 times. The headset will also chime a single tone when turned on.
2. Check to see if the WEP200 needs to be recharged. When the battery begins to run low, the WEP200's earpiece will chime five tones every 20 seconds. To recharge, place the headset in its charging case and plug the case's adapter into a powered outlet. Depending on the level of charge left in the headset's battery, it may take up to 2 hours to recharge fully.
3. Try re-pairing the headset with your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone. Pairing involves establishing a wireless connection between the two devices using Bluetooth. Sometimes, the syncing between the devices needs recalibrating. Turn off the WEP200 by holding down the multi-function button on the front of the device. Once it is off, press and hold the button again for 8 seconds. The WEP200 is now reset. Your cell phone will sense the headset as if it is a new device and will ask for permission to pair with it. Confirm the pairing. The WEP200's indicator light will blink blue 10 times to indicate that the pairing was a success.
4. Speak slowly when using the WEP200's voice-recognition feature. The headset allows you to call individuals in your cell phone's address book by simply saying their name. However, users must speak slowly and enunciate each syllable in the name for the headset to recognize the entry and dial the correct individual.
