Use A Memory Card In A Samsung Beat

Today's cell phones can play music, play video, store photos or do virtually anything else that users want them to do. The one thing cell phones cannot do without a little bit of a memory upgrade is store as much data as most users want them to. Fortunately, most new cell phones, including the Samsung Beat, can store more data by simply adding a microSD card.


Instructions


Installing the microSD card


1. Locate the microSD card slot on the right side of the phone and lift up the cover.


2. On the microSD card you will see metal contact pins. Make sure these pins are facing downward and gently push the card into the card slot until it is fully inserted into the phone. After installing the card the card cover will close just as it did before the card was inserted.


3. Your memory card is now installed and you can begin storing more data on your phone.


Storing music to the microSD card


4. To transfer music from your phone to your memory card, start by pressing the left soft key, which is located in the top left corner of the phone's keypad, directly below the screen. This will take you to your phone's main menu.


5. Use the phone's navigation key, located in the middle of the keypad above the number key, to scroll to "Fun and Apps," where your music, games and other applications are stored, and press the "OK" key, which is a separate key located in the middle of the navigation key.


6. Scroll to the music folder and press the "OK" button.


7. Find the song you want to transfer from your phone to your memory card, scroll to it and press the left soft key to pull up additional options including deleting the song, renaming the song and transferring the song.


8. Scroll to "Move to Memory Card" and press the "OK" key. The selected song has now been transferred from your phone to your memory card.


Storing photos to the microSD card


9. Press the left soft key, which is located in the top left corner of the phone's keypad, directly below the screen. This will take you to your phone's main menu.


10. Use the phone's navigation key, located in the middle of the keypad above the number key, to scroll to "Fun and Apps," where your music, games and other applications are stored, and press the "OK" key, which is a separate key located in the middle of the navigation key.


11. Scroll to the "Camera" option and press the center select key.


12. Scroll to the "Photos" option and press the center select key.


13. Find the picture you want to transfer from your phone to your memory card, scroll to it and press the left soft key to pull up additional options. Scroll to "Move to Memory Card" and press the center select key.

14. Press the left soft key, which is located in the top left corner of the phone's keypad, directly below the screen. This will take you to your phone's main menu.


15. Use the phone's navigation key, located in the middle of the keypad above the number key, to scroll to "Fun and Apps" where your music, games and other applications are stored, and press the "OK" key, which is a separate key located in the middle of the navigation key.


16. Scroll to the "Memory Card" option and press the center select key.


17.This screen will show you all of the files saved to the microSD card.


18. Use the navigation key to scroll through the files. To view the details of each, or to view or play the file, press the center select key.
