Activate The Nokia 1100 Tracfone

The Nokia 1100 first made its appearance in 2003. It is known for its durability and user-friendly features. Chances are, if you have one of these phones, your service provider is TracFone, a nationwide prepaid wireless carrier. For a set fee, customers can buy the minutes they need, without an obligation to a contract. To get started using your new TracFone, you must activate it. This is a simple process that can be done online.

Instructions

1. Install the battery in the phone and charge it. Log onto Tracfone's website (see References section). Select the "Activate or Buy Minutes" button on the upper right corner of the Web page. This will take you to a Web page that will allow you to make a more detailed selection.

2. Click the "Activate/Reactivate" tab on the upper left corner of the Web page. This will prompt a drop-down list. Scroll down and select the "Activate/Reactivate" phone link.

3. Select the appropriate radio button next to the task you're completing under the section titled "Tell us how you wish to Activate your TracFone." You can activate your TracFone with a new number, a number from another company or by transferring service from one phone to another.

4. Choose the "Nokia" tab to see a list of Nokia models. Click on the picture for model 1100. This should prompt the picture to populate on the right side of the website under the "Selected" display panel. Click the "Submit" button to continue. This will take you to a Web page that will request you to sign into your account or create one by registering.

5. Log into your account if you're an existing customer by entering your user name and password into the designated sections. Skip to Step 7. If you are a new customer you can create an account by registering for one, but it's not required to activate your phone. Creating an account will just allow you to manage your phone and keep track of your minutes online.

6. Click the "Register" button. Skip the registering process by scrolling down the Web page and selecting the "Click here" link next to the text "If you wish to skip this step." It is located under the "Submit" button. Otherwise, begin entering your personal information and your email address to set up your account information and choose your security questions. Add your phone to this account by entering your phone's serial number. It is either an 11-, 15- or 18-digit number, also called an ESN or IMEI. This number can be found on the activation card that came with the phone packing. Click "Submit."

7. Turn on your Nokia 1100. It may prompt you to set the date and time when you first turn it on. This can be done at any time. Press the "C" key to bypass this step and continue the activation process. Enter your serial number in the designated area. Click the "Submit" button. Enter your calling area ZIP code. You have the option of adding minutes now or at a later date. Once your phone is activated, your new cell number will be displayed across the phone's screen.
