Set up VoIP support on your Nokia E65.
Supported by the Symbian 60 operating system, the Nokia E65 features both video and audio streaming, a music player, conference calling capability and an integrated wireless connection supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Setting up VoIP capabilities on your Nokia E65 consists mainly in securing a wireless connection, choosing a VoIP provider and installing their application onto your phone.
Instructions
Set Up a Wireless Connection with WLAN Wizard
1. Select the "Menu" option on the start screen of your Nokia E65.
2. Choose "Connect" from the menu.
3. Click "WLAN wiz." from the list of options. Your Nokia E65 will automatically connect to the wireless network and ask you to verify the password for your network. Enter your password and click "Start Browsing the Web."
Set Up VoIP with Truphone
4. Go online to Truphone's website (see Resource list). Click "Truphone Mobile Apps" on the left. Type your phone number into the text field and click "Get Truphone."
5. Open the SMS Truphone sent you and select "Options," choose "Open Link" and click "Select."
6. Select your WLAN access point from the list. Choose the WLAN access point defined when you ran the "WLAN wiz." on your phone and select "Yes."
7. Select "Continue" to proceed through the Truphone installation wizard. When the installation wizard requests for you to choose a WLAN access point, highlight the connection you established with the "WLAN wiz." and click "Select." On the following screen, highlight "New Customer" and click "Select." The installation wizard will now finalize your account with Truphone. When you want to make a VoIP call, simply access the Truphone app in your applications menu.
Set Up VoIP with fring
8. Go online to fring's website (see Resource list) and type your phone number and email address into the corresponding text fields. Click "Free Download."
9. Open the SMS sent to you by fring on your Nokia E65. Select "Options," choose "Open Link" and click "Select." This link will activate the fring download wizard. Follow the directions of the wizard and select "Install" to finalize the download.
10. Highlight "Choose new fring user" from the menu and click "Next."
11. Create an fring user account by entering a user name and password into the corresponding profile selections.
12. Click "Next." Fring will automatically connect your new user name and password. In the future, when you want to make VoIP calls with your Nokia E65, simply access fring from your applications menu.
Set Up VoIP with iSkoot
13. Go online to register a Skype Name (see Resource list) and click "Join" at the top of the screen.
14. Type your name, email address and personal information into the corresponding text fields and drop-down menus. Click "I Agree--Continue" when you have completed the form.
15. Go online to iSkoot's website (see Resource list) and click "Download Now."
16. Select "Nokia" in the "Manufacturer" list and select "E65" in the "Model" drop-down menu.
17.Select your country in the drop-down menu and type your phone number, email address and the Skype Name you registered, then select "Download via SMS" at the bottom of the page. Click "Submit."
18. Open the SMS sent to you by iSkoot. Select "Options," choose "Open Link" and click "Select." Opening this link will activate the iSkoot installation wizard.
19. Click "Accept" to accept the user agreement and select "Yes" to initiate the installation. Select "Continue" when shown the software specifics and to finalize the installation. When iSkoot is finished installing, you will be presented with a message reading "Installation Complete."
20. Access the program by navigating to your applications menu and selecting the iSkoot icon.
21. Select "I have an account," highlight "Skype Name" and type your Skype Name and password into the corresponding text fields. Click "Sign in." You are now connected to iSkoot via your Skype account. In the future, when you want to make a VoIP call, go to your applications menu and open iSkoot.
