Upgrade A Sandisk Memory

Upgrade the memory in a SanDisk Sansa player.

The largest SanDisk players, the SanDisk Sansa View and Fuze, have up to 32 GBs of storage. If this is not enough, you can upgrade or expand the memory with a memory card. The players only accept microSD or microSDHC memory cards. The cards can be from manufacturers other than SanDisk. There are microSD cards that can add an additional 32 GBs worth of storage to your current internal memory. Each player has a maximum capacity for memory. For example, the SanDisk Sansa Fuze+ will only accommodate 40GB worth of memory; this includes the internal memory plus an additional microSD card.

Instructions

1. Insert the microSD or SDHC memory card into the memory card slot on the SanDisk player. On the Fuze+, for example, this slot is located on the left side. On the Sansa Clip this slot is located on the right side of the player. Make sure the label on the memory card is facing up and the arrow on the label is pointed toward the opening when inserting it.

2. Download media to the memory card. You can add media to the card by inserting the card directly into the computer, or keep the card inserted in the SanDisk player. Connect the SanDisk to the computer using the USB cable. Click on the desktop "Start" menu and select the "Computer/My Computer" folder. Double-click the "Removable Disk" drive, not the drive that represents the Sansa player---accessing this drive will save data to the internal memory. In some cases, you may need to double-click on the Sansa drive to access the External USD card folder inside. Drag media from the save location on the computer and drop it into the Removable Disk or External USD card folder.

3. Select the "Card" icon on the main menu to access media download to the card. When accessing this option, use the right-navigation arrow to scroll to the right. Then press the center of the touchpad to select the option.
