Unlock A Nokia 6263

Unlock a Nokia 6263

The Nokia 6263 is a quad-band global systems for mobile communications (GSM) compatible flip-style cellular phone that was sold by T-Mobile in The United States. The phone was originally released in 2007 and is no longer in production. T-Mobile sold the Nokia 6263 with a carrier lock that prevents using the phone with a non T-Mobile Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. The United States Supreme Court, however, ruled in 2008 that it is legal for cell phone users to unlock their cellular telephones. As a result of this ruling, T-Mobile will provide you with your phone's unlock code free of charge provided you are an active T-Mobile customer, and your account is in good standing.

Instructions

1. Call T-Mobile customer service at 1-800-866-2453 and request the unlock code for your Nokia 6263. T-Mobile will generally provide you with the unlock code free of charge provided that you have an active account in good standing. If you are unable to get the unlock code from T-Mobile, you can also purchase the unlock code from several on-line retailers. To find a company that specializes in selling phone unlock codes, perform an Internet search for "cell phone unlock codes." Write down the unlock code.

2. Remove the back cover and battery from your Nokia 6263. Under the battery, you will find your T-Mobile SIM card. Remove the SIM card from the phone and replace the battery and back cover. Power on your Nokia 6263.

3. Type the following using your Nokia 6263 keypad: "#PW+CODE+7#." In the aforementioned sequence, 'CODE' is the unlock code you wrote down in Step 1. Your Nokia 6263 is now unlocked and ready to use with a non T-Mobile SIM card.
