Troubleshooting Tips For A Sony Projection Tv

Press the volume button on the remote if there is no sound.

Sony Projection TVs bring a big picture with vivid colors to your home to produce a movie-theater-like experience. When you set up your TV, you might find you need to make adjustments to correct problems and enhance your output. You'll want your TV operating perfectly before inviting your friends over to watch the big game.

Power Loss

If your TV screen is not lit and there is no sound, your TV's power source may be compromised. Push the "Power" button on the front of your TV or remote control to confirm that the TV is turned on. Switch channels to rule out the possibility that one station may be experiencing problems. Turn your TV so that the back is easily accessible. Inspect the power cord from the TV to the wall for damage, like lacerations or dents. If the cord is damaged, replace it. Unplug the power cord from the wall, and plug in a separate electrical component to test the outlet for functionality. Reinsert the plug into the outlet.

Poor Picture

If your screen is producing a dark or muddy picture, go to your "Picture" options within the TV's main menu to correct it. Push the "Menu" button on your remote control to access the main menu, and use the four-way navigation buttons to highlight the "Video" menu. Push the button in the center of the four-way navigation button to select it. You will see a list of Picture options, including "Picture," "Brightness," "Color," and "Hue." Scroll down to highlight "Brightness" and push the four-way navigation buttons to the right or left to raise or lower the brightness respectively. Scroll down to "Color," and push the navigation buttons to intensify the color.

No Audio

A lack of sound coming from your TV might be the result of an activated mute function. Push "Mute" on your remote to release the mute. If you have external speakers hooked up to your TV, check that the "Speaker" option has been enabled in the Audio menu. Push "Menu" on the remote control, use the four-way navigation buttons to highlight "Audio," and select it by pushing the center button. Scroll down to "Speaker," and push the navigation button to the right to highlight "On," and push select to enable it. Scroll up to "MTS," and select either "Mono" or "Stereo." If "Auto SAP" is activated, you won't receive audio from TV stations.
