Hang Up A 3 By 5foot Flag

A 3- by 5-foot flag is one that measures three feet in height with a length of five feet. How you will hang up such a flag depends entirely on where the flag is going to be displayed. Hanging a flag on a flagpole, for example, will differ greatly from hanging a flag on your wall. Neither method requires more than a few minutes of your time before you can have that flag hanging proudly. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

On a Flagpole

1. Fasten the first clip on the top of your flagpole rope to the first clip ring on your 3- by 5-foot flag (if applicable). If your flag is designed to be hung on a flagpole, it will have a series of grommets, or metal rings, cut into the left side near the edge. Pull open the clip, insert each side of the clip into the hole in the flag, and push the two parts of the clip back together to form a ring.

2. Connect the rest of the clips on your flagpole rope to the clip rings on the side of your flag.

3. Use the flagpole rope to raise your flag to the top of the flagpole. Pull downward on the side of the rope opposite the side the flag is connected to. This will raise the side of the rope to which the flag is connected, which will raise the flag.

4. Wrap the bottom of the flagpole rope around the metal latch sticking out of the base of the flagpole. This will keep the rope secure and the flag from falling.

On a Wall

5. Place the upper-left corner of your 3- by 5-foot flag against a wall or other surface from which you're hanging the flag. With one hand holding the flag against the wall, use the other hand to insert a push pin through the flag and into the wall.

6. Stretch the flag out against the wall and hold the upper-right corner tight against the wall with your hand. Insert a push pin through the flag into the wall. This will keep the flag against the wall without the need to hold it with your hand.

7. Insert push pins into the other two corners of the flag to secure it to the wall.
