Setting up Bluetooth on a Samsung mobile phone is one of the easiest configurations to complete. This is because most mobile devices that are Bluetooth compatible come preinstalled. So as a result, no software installation is required. These steps will show you enable your phone's Bluetooth capability in order to be discovered by other devices.
Instructions
Set Up Bluetooth on Samsung Mobile Phones
1. Press the "Menu" key on your mobile device or locate it on the device's main screen. A list of icons and/or word links will appear. Scroll to the "Settings" and/or "Tools" icon on your mobile device. (This wording will vary depending on the model of your handset.) Click on the "Settings" tab and locate the "Bluetooth" folder. This is the location you will always go to when enabling your Bluetooth feature. Click "Bluetooth" to collapse the folder and view the options offered for your feature.
2. Click "Name My Device" or "Bluetooth Name" to personalize your mobile device. This will make it easier for others to identify you when pairing. Pairing is sometimes difficult when other devices are detected in range. The technical model name may be a bit difficult to remember. When you click on the link, it will display a data form that should have the technical model name already in place as the default title. Clear the title and rename your device to whatever you desire. Click "OK" to save your changes.
3. Locate the "Connections" folder and access it to configure the Bluetooth settings. Make sure your connection setting is stored as a "Phone" connection and not a "Memory Card" connection. This automatically directs your paired file locations to save to the phone. Next, the connections subfolder will have the option to either "Enable" or "Power" your Bluetooth's discovery mode. Choose your option according to your particular headset.
4. Change the setting to "On" or "Make Discoverable." The phone will begin to load your settings, and a percentage indicator will display the progress of the setup. When the feature is "On" the phone will notify you in a matter of seconds. A small Bluetooth symbol should appear on your phone's task bar. This is usually where the phone's battery and signal symbol are located. This is the indication that your Bluetooth is now active and your mobile device is discoverable.
