Unlock A Nokia 3555c

SIM cards contain network and account information that associate a telephone number to a particular phone.

The Nokia 3555c is a cellular phone that works on different Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) networks. GSM phones use a Subscriber Information Module (SIM), a small card that is inserted into the phone, to store subscriber and network data. By changing the SIM card, you can enable the phone to work on different networks. Some carriers lock phones so they will only work with SIM cards from their networks. Unlocking a phone removes this restriction and allows the phone to work on any network.

Instructions

Put a SIM Card Into the Phone

1. Remove the back of the phone by pressing the back cover upward from the bottom.

2. Lift the battery out by pulling up at the top of the battery. This will expose the SIM-card holder.

3. Open the SIM-card holder by pressing inward at the side to release the catch and swinging the holder up toward the top of the phone.

4. Put a SIM card in the phone. Make sure you match the notch in the corner with the notch in the holder. In the 3555c, the notch is on the bottom left of the holder.

5. Close the SIM-card holder and replace the battery.

Get the IMEI Number

6. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding the power key. The power key is on the navigation pad just above the 3 key.

7. Once the phone has powered on, enter the following using the keypad:

*#06*

The phone will display its IMEI number.

8. Write down the IMEI number.

Unlocking Your Phone

9. Enter your phone's IMEI number into a software unlock-code generator. If you don't have an unlock-code generator, you can purchase unlock codes from one of many online unlock-code suppliers. If you are buying a code, enter the IMEI into the supplier's website.

10. Enter the network to which the phone is locked in the unlock-code-generator software or code-generating service's website.

11. Write down the codes from the software or wait for the email to arrive from the commercial service.

12. Remove the SIM card from the phone once you have several unlock codes. It is important to have several codes in case one doesn't work.

13. Power the phone on without a SIM card and enter an unlock code. The unlock codes are formatted as follows:

#pw+123 123 123 1+1#

Once unlocked, the phone will display a message indicating that the phone is no longer SIM restricted.
