Install Unsigned Applications On A Nokia N95

The N95 is a smartphone created by Nokia. It has a 5-megapixel camera, a built-in music player and it runs on a Symbian operating system. The Symbian OS can support a range of applications which can be downloaded from the Internet--signed or unsigned. Many unsigned applications can be very useful, but they are not always safe to use. Be sure to check the reviews of an unsigned app before installing it to keep your device safe.

Instructions

1. Download the ZIP file located in the Resources section. Right click the downloaded file and select "Extract All." Choose the folder you wish to extract to and select "Extract."

2. Connect your N95 to your computer using the USB cable. Select "Open Folder to View Files" from the dialogue box. Browse to the "Mass Storage" folder, right-click an empty space, click "New" and select "Folder." Name this folder "Temp."

3. Access the folder where you stored the extracted files, highlight them, right-click and select "Copy." Return to the folder you just created, right-click and select "Paste."

4. Click "Start" and open "Computer." Eject your phone and disconnect it from the computer.

5. Press the menu key, open "Tools" and select "File Manager." Browse to the "Temp" folder you created earlier and open the file named "Y_Browser_3rdEd_088_3.SIS."

6. Click "Yes" when asked if you wish to install the file. Follow the on-screen installation instructions. Once the installation is complete, do the same for the "HelloCarbide" file.

7. Press the menu key, open "DrJukka.com and run "Y-Browser." Press and hold the menu key to open the task manager, scroll down to "Standby" and press "Select."

8. Press the menu key, open "Applications" and scroll to "HelloCarbide." Press "Options" and select "Menu1." Wait until the notification message "Done... Probably" appears on screen, then select "Yes."

9. Re-open the Y-Browser and select the "E:" drive. Scroll to and open the "Temp" folder. Scroll to "CProfDriver_SISX.ldd," press "Options" and select "Copy." Scroll to "installserver.eve" and copy this also--when asked if you wish to append the files, select "Yes."

10. Use the left toggle stick to return to the list of drives and open "C:\SYS\BIN." Press "Options," select "Edit" and press "Paste." Press "Yes" to confirm the operation, then press "Options" and select "Exit."

11. Turn your mobile phone off and on again. Press the menu key, open "Tools," enter "Settings," open "Applications" and select the "App.Manager."

12. Change the "Software Installation" option to "All" and change the "Online Certificate Check" option to "Off."

13. Access an application site via your mobile phone browser and you will be able to download any available application.
