Unlock A Sony Ericsson T610

Phones on a GSM network, such as Sony Ericsson, are locked from being used on another mobile network. You can unlock a Sony Ericsson T610 phone by purchasing an unlock code on an unlocking website. The unlock code for your Sony Ericsson T610 enables you to operate on other GSM networks. You only have to unlock a Sony Ericsson T610 once.

Instructions

1. Retrieve your IMEI number. Type *#06# to retrieve your 15-digit IMEI number on your T610 keypad.

2. Purchase an unlock code for the Sony Ericsson T610 (see Resources). As of December 2010, the price of unlock codes range from $7.99 to $42.99. Provide the website with your IMEI number and complete each step to purchase your unlock code.

3. Turn on your Sony Ericsson T610.

4. Hit the left arrow button.

5. Hit the "*" button twice.

6. Hit the left arrow button again. A message appears on the screen, such as "Personalized with MNC2" or "MNC3."

7. Hit "Select" when the word "Network" appears on your screen. The screen will say "NCK:" and "Unlock (Net) 5."

8. Enter the Sony Ericsson T610 unlock code you purchased from one of the websites in Resources. The message "Network Unlock" appears on your phone screen. Enter the T610 unlock code.

9. Insert another SIM card from another network to unlock a Sony Ericsson T610. A message should appear on your phone's screen that says "Insert SIM." The SIM card is on the back of your phone.
