Ringtones are available in a variety of tunes and music genres, from rap and country to showtunes and favorite TV show themes. Once you download and set a ringtone on your cell phone, it will take the place of the default ringer to alert you of a call. Individual ringtones can be assigned to different callers so that you'll know who is calling by their unique ring. By default, cell phones come with a series of generic ringtones, but using a USB cable, you can easily upload more exciting ringtones in a matter of minutes.
Instructions
1. Select the "USB" mode on your cell phone. This process varies with different phone models and providers, but can generally be configured from the "Settings" screen on the phone. (Refer to your cell phone's documentation if you are unsure select the "USB" mode.)
2. Connect your cell phone to a computer using its included USB cable. Your computer will automatically detect the cell phone.
3. Launch Windows Explorer by clicking the Windows "Start" menu. Select "My Computer." You should see your cell phone listed as a portable hard disk. If you are using a Mac, you will see your cell phone on the desktop.
4. Double-click your cell phones hard disk to launch it. Locate the music folder and double-click it. Locate your ringtones from the folder or location you have them on your computer and drag them to the music folder on your cell phone. If your cell phone does not have a music folder, refer to your documentation for the appropriate folder to download ringtones to.
