Add minutes to your TracFone with an airtime PIN code.
When you purchase an airtime refill card for your TracFone, the back of the card bears a strip of silver material that must be scratched off with a coin in order to reveal a PIN code. This code is 15 digits long and will allow you to add the minutes you've bought to your phone. Once you've scratched the card to reveal your PIN code, you can proceed to redeem the code directly on your phone or online via the TracFone website.
Instructions
On the Phone
1. Turn on your TracFone and navigate to the Prepaid menu. When you are on the Prepaid menu screen, select the option to "Add Airtime."
2. Use your phone's keypad to enter the 15-digit PIN code from the refill card into the box that appears. Double-check the code, then select "OK." The phone will then inform you that the minutes will be added soon.
3. Wait for the minutes to appear on your phone. You will know that the addition of airtime has been completed successfully when the number of available minutes displayed on your phone's home screen increases; a popup screen may also appear informing you that the minutes have been added.
Online
4. Visit the TracFone website and click on the button that says "Activate Phone, Add or Buy Airtime." On the menu bar at the top of the next page, click on the button that says "Add Airtime," then click "Go" underneath the option to "Add Airtime Online."
5. Enter the airtime PIN code in the box that says "Airtime PIN." On the same page, you also have the option of entering additional airtime PINs or a promotional code if you have one. Finally, enter your TracFone's phone number into the last box and click "Submit."
6. Make sure that your TracFone is turned on and has a signal. After entering your phone number and airtime PIN information online, the minutes will be sent directly to your phone. It generally does not take longer than 10 minutes to receive your airtime refill.
