Set Up A Bluetooth On A Pc

Bluetooth enables you to connect to other devices without using cables.


There are a lot of options to send data between two mobile devices such as laptops and mobile phones. Such options could be the use of data cables and memory cards, but one of the easiest and most hassle-free of these would be to send data over Bluetooth. The only requirement is that these devices are within close range of each other to ensure a fast and secure transfer of files without disruption. You can also install Bluetooth hardware to your PC such as printers, mice and keyboards.


Instructions


1. Attach the Bluetooth dongle unto the PC. It will usually be connected via USB port. The automatic setting on all devices such as this is to be immediately detected by the computer. There could also be an physical on/off switch located on the device.


2. Click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel." In the Control Panel window, select "Network and Internet" and choose the "Set up Bluetooth enabled device" option and then click "Add."


3. Click the option "My device is set up and ready to be found" and then click "Next." This will detect all active Bluetooth devices and your your external Bluetooth should be activated.


4. Type in a passkey for your Bluetooth device. A passkey will ensure security on which devices can connect to your PC. You will be given several options. You can use a default passkey provided by Windows, your own chosen passkey or you can choose not to use a passkey at all.


5. Connect your external device by selecting the option to connect to your PC. If you will be using a passkey, this will be the time to enter it on your external device to securely connect to the PC.


6. Install the driver CD that comes with your device. Follow the instructions until all the files have been installed. The Bluetooth is now installed and connected to your external device. You may now send files between your PC and your external device.
