Establishing a stable Wi-Fi connection between your mobile device and PC allows you to transfer data from the phone to the PC and vice versa. This process requires a little technical experience and a means of connecting the mobile device to the PC, such as a USB sync cable or Bluetooth capability. The configuration process can be complete in minutes with just a few detailed instructions to ensure your connection is completely stable.
Instructions
1. Connect the mobile device to the PC. Plug the mobile device's USB sync cable into the phone and the PC or connect using Bluetooth. Wait for the connection indicator to appear in the lower right corner of the screen.
2. Open the mobile device's connection settings. Press the "Start" menu key in Windows Mobile on the phone and go to the phone's network and connection settings.
3. Choose the connectivity source for your mobile phone. Scroll through the list of settings, go to "WiFi", and click "Work" in the Wi-Fi dropdown list. Make your Wi-Fi network card the default connection source.
4. Obtain the phone's IP address. Select the "Use Specific IP Address" to redirect the phone's Wi-Fi connection to the PC. The phone's IP address will now be visible.
5. Set up the PC's network settings to receive the Wi-Fi data transfer. Go to the computer's "Wireless Connections", "Network Settings" or "Network and Internet" settings. Access the available network connection settings by right-clicking over the network and selecting the "Properties" tab.
6. Key the phone's IP address into the computer's Internet Protocol. In the properties screen, a list of installed Internet protocols will be displayed. Click on the "Internet Protocol TCP/IP" option and type the phone's IP address in the designated form. Click "OK" to save the settings.
