Bluetooth is an electronic technology that enables two or more electronic devices to communicate without wires. Marek Biaoglowy of Symantic Security states that the technology was patented in 1994 by Sven Mattison and Jaap Haartsen, employees of the L.M. Ericsson telephone company. Bluetooth technology was named after Harold Bluetooth, a Danish King noted for his travels. Nokia, Bose, Casio, Sharp and LG produce Bluetooth earpieces that are compatible with most brands and models of phones. Several lesser know brands are also available. Unless you are completely sure that your cell phone is compatible with a given Bluetooth device, be cautious about purchasing on the Internet.
