The SIM card goes under the BlackBerry cell phone's battery.
The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card is a portable memory chip issued by your cell phone provider that holds your cell phone number, text messages, phone book and other personal data for your BlackBerry. The SIM card activates the phone on AT&T's network. Your SIM card can move between multiple cell phones, allowing you to use it in both an AT&T standard cell phone and your BlackBerry.
Instructions
1. Place your BlackBerry on a hard surface with the screen facing down.
2. Remove the cover from your BlackBerry cell phone by pushing in the small button on the bottom of the phone while pushing the plastic cover up. Pull the cover away from the phone and set the cover to the side.
3. Remove the battery from your BlackBerry. Set the battery to the side.
4. Slide your BlackBerry's SIM card door toward its hinges to unlock the door. Open the SIM card door.
5. Remove the SIM card from its box or any packaging that it may have around it.
6. Insert the SIM card into the small metal SIM card door under the battery. Make sure that the SIM card's contacts are facing down. The notched corner should face the top of your BlackBerry.
7. Close your SIM card holder door so that your SIM card is flat against your BlackBerry. Slide your SIM card's door away from the hinges to lock it down.
8. Insert the battery into the phone. The metal contacts on the battery should line up with the metal contacts on your BlackBerry.
9. Replace the exterior cover on the phone.
