Nokia 6121 Vs 6220

The Nokia 6121 and the Nokia 6220, released in 2008, are part of the company's extensive line of cellphones and come with several features in common, including built-in digital cameras and media players. In spite of these commonalities, the phones have several differences, such as different amounts of pre-loaded memory, navigational functionality and slight dimensional differences.


Dimensions and Display


Though both the Nokia 6121 and Nokia 6220 are compact in their designs, there are slight differences in their dimensions. The 6121 measures 4.1 inches long, 1.8 inches wide and 0.6 inches deep, while the 6220 measures 4.2 inches long, 1.8 inches wide and 0.8 inches deep. At 3.3 ounces, the 6220 is slightly heavier than the 6121, which weighs 3.1 ounces. Both phones feature a thin-film transistor screen that displays more than 16 million colors at 240 by 320 pixels of resolution. At 2.2 inches, the 6220's display screen is slightly larger than the 2-inch screen on the 6121.


Memory


While the Nokia 6121 comes with 32MB of storage, 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM, the Nokia 6220 features 120MB of storage and 128MB of RAM. Both phones are equipped with a built-in micro-Secure Digital card slot for up to 8GB of expanded memory. The phones support microSD cards, which offer up to 2GB of memory, and high-capacity microSD cards, which provide between 2GB and 32GB of memory, up to their expanded memory limitations.


Cameras


The Nokia 6121 features a 2-megapixel digital camera that captures still images at up to 1,600 by 1,200 pixels of resolution and is capable of recording video. The Nokia 6220, on the other hand, contains a 5-megapixel digital camera that captures images at up to 2,592 by 1,944 pixels of resolution and is also capable of recording video. Both phones are equipped with a secondary, rear-facing camera that gives the phones videoconferencing functionality. Photographic features, such as a self timer and auto focus, give each phone added photographic capabilities.


Miscellaneous


An assisted-GPS application, which is contained on the Nokia 6220 only, gives the phone navigational functionality by using a combination of cellular tower and satellite signals. Both phones support text, video, voice and photo messages and mobile email through connections to an Internet Message Access Protocol or Post Office Protocol server. The phones also support instant messaging through Internet connections to several third-party IM clients, such as AOL, MSN and Yahoo! Each phone comes pre-equipped with a document viewer software application, which allows you to open files created by Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Adobe PDF.
