Flash A K700i

The Sony Ericsson k700i is a stylish, fully loaded mobile phone derived from the T630. It contains a high-resolution camera, Bluetooth and a 41 megabyte memory in a small package. It weighs 3.7 ounces and is a little bigger than a standard credit card, two features that make it convenient to carry around without compromising on the features. You can improve the current features of your old k700i or fix glitches like hanging---or failure to receive network signals---by flashing the phone. Flashing updates the firmware installed on your phone. (Firmware addresses a certain feature or fix.)

Instructions

Instructions

1. Press the following keys on your k700i: >*<<*<*. This will display the firmware version that your phone is using. Different firmwares have different features. Research the features of the firmwares you have in order to know which feature you'd like to flash on your phone.

2. Verify that you have a USB driver installed in your computer to support the DSS cradle. If you don't have one, download a copy and install the driver in your computer.

3. Confirm that your Internet connection is good, as this will be critical to flashing your phone.

4. Buy credits from DaVinci for the flash tool from the DaVinci website. They will send you an e-mail containing details on payment. After payment has been made through PayPal, they will send you another set of instructions about proceed. Install the program in your computer. After installing it, run the program.

5. Turn off your phone and remove the SIM card. Remove the battery and connect the phone to the DSS. Put the battery back into the phone. Do not turn the phone back on.

6. Using the cable test from DaVinci, you'll be able to get the CID of your phone. You will need this CID to identify which firmwares you can use on your phone. Trying to flash phones using firmwares that are not compatible with your phone's CID can cause your phone to malfunction.

7. Select the type of firmware that you'd like to flash on your phone. Begin the flash by clicking on the "flash" button on DaVinci. Follow the instructions and wait until the flash process has finished. If the flash and the phone don't work, take the phone off the DSS. Remove the battery, connect the phone back to the DSS and install the battery back in the phone. Perform another flash procedure.
