Tips On An Lg Rumor Phone

Released in 2010, the LG Rumor Touch is part of the manufacturer's extensive line of smartphones and comes with a variety of features, including a built-in digital camera and a GPS system. Becoming familiar with the Rumor Touch's features and specifications will enable you to get the most out of the device.

Memory Tips

If the 128 megabytes of internal memory isn't meeting your needs, the LG Rumor Touch contains a built-in Secure Digital card slot for up to 32 gigabytes of expanded memory. With expanded memory, there will be more room to add content, such as apps, contacts and music. SD memory cards come in several capacity sizes, including 4, 8 and 16 GB. To preserve memory space, it is a good idea to periodically check your phone's content to make sure you aren't storing files that you don't want or need any longer.

Messaging Tips

Like most smartphones, the LG Rumor Touch supports photo, text, video and voice messages and mobile email clients through a Post Office Protocol (POP3) or Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP4) server connection. Push email, which instantly delivers emails directly to the phone without requiring the recipient to sign in and manually check for messages, is also supported by the phone. While some phones come with these features automatically set and ready to go, the Rumor Touch requires you to adjust the email client's and phone's settings to enable them.

Connectivity Tips

Using a personal computer to add content and synchronize data is made possible through a USB connection with the Rumor Touch. With Bluetooth wireless technology, the smartphone provides a variety of profiles, or user interfaces, such as headset (HSP), object push (OPP), hands-free (HFP) and phone book access (PBA). The HSP profile provides the option of using a two-way wireless headset to make and receive calls, while the OPP profile facilitates transferring data from one device to another. The HFP profile provides two-way hands-free calling through the Rumor Touch's speakerphone and the PBA profile lets you share contact information with another mobile device.

Miscellaneous Tips

The LG Rumor Touch's battery, when fully charged, provides up to seven hours of talk time, an hour below the average for similar devices on the market in 2011. To extend your phone's battery life, there are a variety of things you can do, including turning off the phone's 3G network connection, disabling the phone's background information function and shortening the sleep mode activation time. Setting the Rumor Touch's GPS application to receive satellite signals instead of cellular tower signals will provide you with more accurate location data, but will also use more energy.
