Instructions To Replace The Lcd On A Nokia N95

The Nokia N95 is a smart phone released in 2007. Its features include a GPS, a music and video player, downloadable games and an HTML browser. It also uses an LCD screen to display images, videos and other files. If your screen is scratched, it might need replacing. This can be done by a professional, but it will cost you. If you want to save money and change it yourself, you can do it in a few easy steps. Be aware, however, that opening your N95 may void its warranty.

Instructions

1. Power off your Nokia N95 and remove its battery to avoid being shocked while you change the screen.

2. Slide the front of your phone all the way down and set the phone face down on a table. Use your T5 screwdriver to remove the two screws located on the bottom back side of the slider. Push the slider in the opposite direction and remove the other two screws located at the top of the slider.

3. Remove the front panel of the LCD screen by using a prying tool to unclip it. There's one clip on each side. Pull it off and set it aside once it's been completely unclipped. Lift the keypad off and set it aside also.

4. Unclip the keypad panel, found beneath the keypad, from the top. Bend the keypad panel forward to expose the ribbon cable connecting the LCD screen to the motherboard.

5. Use your prying tool to lift up on the metal clip connecting the ribbon cable to the motherboard. Tug on the ribbon cable to disconnect it, and then remove the LCD screen from the phone.

6. Set the replacement LCD screen in place of the old one. Use a pair of tweezers to guide the ribbon cable into its connector slot. Press down on the clip until you hear it click to secure the ribbon cable.

7. Flip the keypad panel back in place and then replace the keypad. Replace the front panel for the slider portion of the phone and press down on it until the clips click back into place. Reinsert the screws into the back of your slider and then replace your battery. Power on your N95 and view your new LCD screen.
