Unlock a Fuze
The HTC Fuze is a smartphone packed with features, including a 3.2 megapixel camera, a Windows Mobile operating system and a full QWERTY keyboard. One disadvantage, however, is that the Fuze, like most other GSM phones, comes SIM locked to its network (AT&T). In order to use the Fuze on any other network, you'll first have to unlock it. Unlocking the Fuze will not only potentially save you money by allowing you to switch to a less expensive service provider, but it will also increase the resale value of the phone.
Instructions
1. Power on your Fuze and type "*#06#" into the home screen to reveal your IMEI number. Make note of this number and set it aside.
2. Contact your service provider's tech support and request an unlock code. You'll need to give the representative your IMEI number, mobile number and email address. If the representative refuses to give you a code, you can purchase one from a remote unlocking site such as mobileunlocksolutions.com, foneszone.co.uk or mobile2mobile.net.
3. Turn off your HTC Fuze and remove its SIM card (located beneath the battery).
4. Insert your new foreign or prepaid SIM card and turn the phone back on. If the phone requests a PIN, enter your SIM card PIN. Press "OK" to continue.
5. Enter the unlock code that you received in a previous step when your phone asks for an "unlock code." Your HTC Fuze should now be unlocked and ready to use on your new network.
