You can use free resources on the Web to create custom ringtones for a Net10 phone.
Net10 provides prepaid cellular phones to subscribers who prefer to avoid monthly contracts. Net10 phone choices range from the basic flip phone to a full-fledged smart phone with a slider QWERTY keyboard. Net10 users can purchase additional minutes at any time. All Net10 phones come equipped with some ringtones but they are very basic tones such as beeps and other unimpressive sounds. As a Net10 user, you can download ringtones using the Net10 mobile Web browser; however, this method won't allow you to create your own ringtones. Making custom ringtones for your Net10 phone requires the use of previously installed music on your personal computer and access to a website that provides tools for ringtone creation and customization.
Instructions
1. Open a Web browser on your personal computer and navigate to a website that provides tools for creating ringtones from your own favorite music. Some websites include Ventones, Myxer, Tonebee and PhoneZoo (see Resources.)
2. Register at the website of your choosing. All sites that provide tools for ringtone creation require registration. Provide the requested information, including your name, email address, cell phone carrier (when Net10 is not listed on the drop-down menu, choose "Unknown Carrier") and your cell phone number.
3. Select the "Ringtones" option.
4. Select "Upload Files," "Create From Files" or "Create Your Own" option (the wording may vary somewhat depending on the site).
5. Click the "Browse" button to search your computer for a song or audio clip that you'd like to make into a custom ringtone.
6. Click the "Upload" button to upload a song to the website. Wait a few moments while the file uploads.
7. Place your mouse cursor on the bar beneath the song file name. Slide the bar forward to advance to the portion of the song you want to use as a ringtone, stopping the bar and releasing the cursor at the desired ending point.
8. Apply ringtone customization tools such as "Fade In," "Fade Out," "Loop" and volume adjustment to modify the ringtone until you are satisfied with the sound.
9. Click "Save" and wait for the "Send to Phone" prompt to appear.
10. Click "Send to Phone." A "Sending" message will appear. Some ringtone creation websites display a message indicating about how long it will take for the ringtone to reach your phone (typically it is within minutes but this can vary by site.)
11. Check your Net10 phone for a new text message. The message containing your new ringtone will be an MMS-type message from an unspecified sender (the MMS sender may be a string of numbers.)
12. Open the MMS message containing your ringtone. Click the "Main Menu" button on your Net10 phone.
13. Choose the "Save" or "Save to Phone" option to save the ringtone to your Net10 phone.
