Unlock Lg Mobile Phones

An LG handset.

Unlocking or flashing a phone means to decode the handset so that it works on any GSM network. Some LG handsets can be flashed to work with any wireless provider so long as they are GSM handsets. GSM handsets are SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) enabled, meaning they must have a SIM card from the provider in order to work. Unlocked LG phones will not work on Verizon or Sprint, which do not provide SIM cards.

Instructions

1. Take your LG phone to a phone store or your wireless provider. LG phones differ from other handsets in the way that they are locked. There are a limited amount of codes that you can enter into an LG handset to unlock it, so many LG handsets must be given over to a specialist to be unlocked with special software.

2. Send your phone in to a verified phone shop such as the travelerinsider.com for unlocking. (See References.) Unlocking your LG handset will range in price from $25 to $35 including shipping and handling. With many of these companies, you can choose to have insured shipping, express shipping, overnight shipping or standard shipping. This way, you'll have the option to track your LG handsets.

3. Go to Unlockitnow.com/LG, and select your LG handset. (See References.) Next, select whether you would like to receive your LG unlock code by email or by downloadable software. In order to use this service, you must have your IMEI number available and a valid email address. You will have to pay for this service, and fees vary depending on the company.
