Open An Iphone 1g

Open an iPhone 1G


1G mean first generation. It refers to the first generation of the wireless communication involved with cellphones. The iPhone 1G produced by Apple is the first incarnation of the series of smart phones with the same name. If you have an iPhone 1G and you need to perform a repair or modify the hardware, you can easily open up the phone without any special tools or equipment.


Instructions


1. Position the iPhone so it faces down. Slide the plastic pick under the black cap on the bottom of the phone. Gently work the pick around the cap until you can pry it off and away.


2. Remove the two screws holding the bottom edge of the back case onto the phone using a jeweler's screwdriver. Pry the case off the phone with the screwdriver to lift the case up.


3. Pull out the SIM card from the top of the iPhone while the case is still attached to the phone internally. Turn the case over so you can see the wires connecting the two parts.


4. Disconnect the ribbon cable connecting the case to the phone by slipping the screwdriver under the connector and gently lifting it up.


5. Remove the three screws on either side of the phone holding the frame in place. Lift the frame up and off of the phone.


6. Lift the microphone in the top left corner out of the way, then remove the three screws holding the logic board onto the top of the phone.


7. Flip the battery up to expose the adhesive holding it down. Turn the logic board over to find the cables holding it down.
